Babysitting class
registration opens
Many youngsters enjoy earning
money by babysitting, and attending
an American Red Cross babysitting
class can help young child care
providers get a handle on successful
babysitting, not mention giving them
an edge on the sitter competition.
Participants aged 10 to 17 learn
basic skills, including: child develop-
ment, discipline, working with par-
ents and basic infant care and first
aid.
The American Red Cross
Babysitting Course will help potential
and current babysitters provide qual-
ity child care. The class will be held
on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m. at the First United Methodist
Church at 205 E. James in Boerne.
Participants should pre-register by
January 27 by calling (800) 775-
6803 ext. 253, and bring a sack
lunch, drink and doll to the class. The
cost of $25 is due at the beginning of
the class and includes a babysitter
guide, first aid kit and pin.
