Dear Mrs. O’Connor:
You’ll let me use some of the
children’s stationery upon which
they write to the parents, won’t
you?
I certainly should have written
to you before this date, but this
has been the week for publish-
ing the Lone Star, so I’ve been
exceedingly busy
The package of toys reached
me early Tuesday morning, but
they were not unpacked until
Wednesday evening. The head

one to play with it.
Some children have parents
who shower them with toys—for
them alone—and other parents
bring the poor little unfortunates
here and “dump them” until they
have to come for them at the
close of school.
You and the good people there
have spread your full share of
Christmas cheer if you do noth-
ing else this season. I thank you,

We are saving the check until
after Christmas, when the toys
go on sale, then the supervisors
and I will go to town and pur-
chase additional toys.
I went into the play room on
the afternoon before the things
you sent were distributed, and
found it as bare as a place could
be. I returned home and car-
ried some of Joe’s books and
some magazines over for them
to play with and look at.
Please come back to see us
again. Everyone liked you so
much and now they are so grate-
ful to you.
May God richly bless you for
all the good things you do.
Wishing you as happy Christ-
mas as you gave our babies, I am,

Dear Mrs. O’Connor:
The Supervisors of Primary
hall wish to express our sincere
thanks to you for the box of
toys and the nice check that
you remembered our children
with.
Saturday, the Supervisors of
the four dormitories in the build-
ing each had a Christmas tree
for their children. Every child
had candy, fruit, and a gift off
the tree. We then told, the
children that a friend gave them
toys you sent, and that they
were for all of them to play
with.
We only wish that you could
have been here and have seen
them enjoy the day.
We shall buy some things for
them with the check when we
all return after the holidays.
It is now in Mrs. Bracewell’s
keeping.
With every good wish to you
for a pleasant holiday season,
