I have had reports from var-
ious parts of my Congressional
District of numbers of people
who are planning to come to
Washington, D. C. for the Inau-
guration of President Lyndon
Johnson. In order that these
people are not disappointed, I
would appreciate you making
the following facts known:
Sw e arin g - in Ceremonies:
(Capital Plaza) I will have only
eight tickets.
Parade: There will be grand-
stand seats for sale located at
various spots along the Parade
Route. Prices will run from $3.50
to $25.00 for a box. Sale of tic-
kets open to public. There will
be standing room all along the
parade route.
Inaugural Ball: By invitation
at $25.00 er person. Dress: White
, Tie and Tails.
T Inaugural Gala: By invitation
to Members of the President’s
Club. This Club is made up of all
those who contributed $1,000 or
more to the Campaign.

Achievements
Bring Honors
Cadet Lt. Edgar Maxwell Da
vis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Davis of Chatham, Va., former-
ly of Ennis, has received high
honors there, and has been of-
fered a four-year scholarship at
the University of Virginia be-
cause of his outstanding high
school achievements. The honors
are described by the school
paper as follows:
"The editors of the Muske-
teer have chosen Lt. Edgar Max-
well Davis as cadet of the month
of. November. Lt. Davis is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis
of Chatham, Virginia.
"Lt. Davis is a Texan by birth
being born in Dallas, Texas. He
presently lives in Chatham, Vir-
ginia, where he has lived for
the greater part of his life. Max
came to Hargrave in 1958 enter-
ing the sizth grade. During his
seven years at Hargrave, he has
seen the school grow. He has
seen the building of the Walter
R. Davis Gymnasium and the
New Building in addition to the
construction of the athletic
fields.
"Presently Lt. Davis is 1 Sec-
ond Lieutenant assigned to the
Battalion Staff as Guidance Of-
ficer. Last Year, he was a buck
sergeant in "A" Company, mem-
ber of the NCO Club and at the
end of the year ranked second in
the Junior class. He is presently
a member of the Radio Club
Sabre Club, Honor Council ana
is secretary of the Beta Club.
"During his seven years at
HMA, Max, as he is called by
his friends, has earned a Good
Conduct Bar, Best Drilled Pla-
toon Bar, Sabre Club Pin, and
Honor Roll Bar. With only two
exceptions, Max has been on
either the President’s or Dean’s
List since he came to HMA. In
past years he has been awarded
the Typing Medal, and Spanish
Medal for excellence in those
subjects. He is also an editor on
the school yearbook.
"After graduation, Max plans
to attend VPI and study engi-
neering. The editors of the Mus-
keteer wish to extend their con-
gratulations to Lt. 'Max Davis.

The Ennis Chapter of Young E. L. Tiner, association executive
Farmers of Texas, named the
Outstanding Young Farmer
Chapter of Area VIII, according
to E. L. Tiner, Executive Secre-
tary of the organization in Aus-
tin, will compete with nine other
Outstanding Chapters "from
throughout the state for the
Outstanding Young Farmer
Chapter of Texas Award.
Announcement of the award
will be made at the Eleventh
Annual Young Farmer Awards
Banquet to be held in conjunc-
tion with the state convention
in Dallas, January 8-9. A repre-
sentative of Electric Utility
Companies of Texas will present
a $150 award to the state Out-
secretary.
