Misses Louise and Annie Men-
zel of Wilson and Thorndale were
Sunday visitors of the H. P. and
A. H Weiser’s.
Word was received here Monday
of the sudden death of Ernest Nit-
sche of Warda Sunday afternoon,
when he was instantly killed by a
passing motorist.
Mrs. Selma Moerbe (Mother
Moerbe) is quite sick again at this
writing and it is hoped that she
will soon be feeling better again
Miss Wanda Schatte who is at-
tending Texas Univeesity was a
weekend visitor of her parents,
Mr and Mrs Ed Schatte.
•Mr and Mrs. Albert Schnell have
their daughter Lillian and hus-
mand home for several days on a
visit.
The O. P. Hielschers and John
Paulicks attended the silver wed-
ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs.
Ben Schurman on Pinoak Sunday
afternoon.
Mr and Mrs Martin Mitschke,
Annie Mae and Herm. Hobratschk
visited the G. P. Mitschkes Sun-
day afternoon.
Mr. Ben Synnatschk is busy
getting moved to his newly ac-
quired home near Giddings these
days.
Mr and Mrs Arnold Bigon of
Freeport spent the weekend with
their parents, Mr and Mrs Herman
Bigum and Mr and Mrs Oscar
Schulz.
Carl and Herbert Krause and
family took dinner Sunday with
Mr and Mrs Carl Schulz.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fulccr
and son Gary from San Diego, Cal.
and Mr and Mrs. O. M. Bakken
of Morehead, Minn., are here visit-
ing their parents Mr. and. Mrs Al-
bert Schnell.
After their visit here, Mr. and
Mrs. Fulcer will make their home
in Hortonville, Wise, and Mr. and
Mrs. Bakken will make their home
at Port Arthur.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

with his parents and other folks.
Mr. and Mrs. John Emrich of
Omaha, Nebraska, and grandfath-
er Wendland of Arapahoe, Nebr.
are visiting with Prof. and Mrs.
E. F. Wedland and sons. Grand-
father Wendland will spend the
winter here with Prof. and Mrs.
E. F. Wendland.
Clarence Wiendland of Concor-
dia spent the weekend with home
folks.
Mr and Mrs Walter Kieschnick
and Mrs. Willie Becker and Mrs
Albert Jenke visited Sunday night
with Mr. and Mrs. Willie Tolkmitt.
Mr and) Mrs. Arthur Jatzlau
spent Sunday night with Mr and
Mrs. Lawrence Tolkmitt and fami-
ly.
Mr. and Mrs. John Miertschin
of Northrup observed their golden
wedding anniversary Sunday with
all their children and, a host of
relatives and friends present.
After the celebrants, their chil-
dren and grandchildren were seat
edat the table, the Rev. H. Schmidt
conducted a short devotion and
addressed the couple basing his
remarks on Ruth, 1, 16 and 17
showing them how God had been
gracious to them during their 50
years of married life which should
also be their comfort during their
remaining days.
The Rev. P. C. Eifert of Wardu
also addressed the couple. During
the devotion a number of appro-
priate hymns of praise were sung
by the audience.
Mr. Miertschin thanked the pas-
tors and everyone present for the
honor bestowed! upon them. He
pleaded with his family and rela-
tives to pray diligently in order
that they may all be reunited at the
heavenly feast.
After a sumptuaus barbecue sup-
per which was served at 6 o’clock,
congratulatory messages were read
from the Rev. E E. Miertschin and
On Thursday, November 21,
from 3:30 to 5:00 p. m. Mra. W. D.
Moody honored her little son War-
ten Bradley with a party on his 3rd
birthday. After playing games,
refreshments of candy, sandwiches
cake and punch were served.
Guests were Peggy, Leslie and
Harold, Pieratt, Mary, Howard and
Charles Rudy Weigelt, Cathy Cole,
Carolyn Sue Curry, Barbara Mc-
Lerran, Jo Anne and Jon Eckstein
Twila and Nellie Gay Kieke, Pete
and Vera Ann Luker, and Cindy
Suehs.
Favors were packages of chewing
gum.
