Bert L. Reinke is the grand-
son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kiss-
man ot Giddings, Texas.
Over 13,000 miles of pipe
has been installed through
financing of the Farmers Home
Administration to provide rural
areas of Texas with an adequate
and sanitary water supply.
There are 369 such facilities
in operation in Texas serving
more than 36,900 rural
families.
$63,334,910 has been loaned
for such water supply corpora-
tion since 1960. In fiscal year
1967, the Farmers Home Ad-
ministration in Texas financed
139 of these facilities for
$17,086,250.
The Lee County Office of the
Farmers Home Administration
has financed 1 water supply
corporation in providing sani-
tary water for 18 rural families.

BERT L. REINKE
An expense paid trip to the
National 4-H Congress held in
Chicago was won by Bert L.
Reinke, 18-year-old son of Mr.
and Mri. Bert W. Reinke of Aus-
tin, Texas. This trip will take
place from November 24 thru
December 2.
Bert is a member of the
Cre dmoor 4-H Club in Travis
County. He is a senior in
William B. Travis High School
in Austin. His future plans are
to go to college and become a
Veterinary. The 4-H Program
was an influence in selecting
his field. The 4-Hheadquarters
is at A & M and it is a Veteri-
narian School of Medicine. He
is also interested in Agricul-
tural Extension Work.
During the 5 years that Bert
has belonged to the 4-H Pro-
gram, he has completed 13
projects, in the specific subject
matter area that he has entered
as an awards program, he has
won 3 County horse awards, and
2 County tractor. Twice Bert
represented Travis County in
the horse program in the Dis-
trict Horse Show. In 1965 he
placed 3rd in halter class, and
in 1966 he placed 9th in show-
manship. Also in 1965 and 1966
he placed 4th in District Tractor
Driving Contest, and in 1967
he placed 3rd. His 1966 tractor
record book was 1st alternate
on State level.
Some other important 4-H
honors that Bert has received
are such as appearing on TV
with his horse and as Mr. 4-H
in 1965 during National 4-H
Club Week. In 1966 he was on
TV again as Mr. 4-H to ad-
vertise the 1966 4-H rodeo.
Bert gave the Summary of Total
Accomplishments at the 1965
Awards Banquet and the Silver
Spur Award at the 1966 Awards
Banquet. He attended Texas 4-H
Junior Leadership Training La-
batory at Brownwood, Texas, in
the summer of 1966. He was
Master of Ceremonies for the
1967 Share the Fun Contest. In
July 1967 Bert gave a talk at
Austin Optimist Breakfast Club
on the 4-H program. For the
past 3 years he has attended
District Citizenship Day.
Bert has been an active mem-
ber in his local 4-H Club, at
Junior Leaders Meeting, and
County 4-H Council. In 1964
he was vice-president of the
Creedmoor Club, and in 1965
he was elected president. In
1966 he was vice-president of
the local club and 2nd vice-
chairman of County 4-H Coun-
cil. During 1967 he is Chairman
of County 4-H Council. At Hope
Lutheran Church, where he at-
tends church with his family,
he is past vice-president and
president of the Walther Lea-
gue, and currently he is an
usher during early service.
In addition to 4-H work, Bert
has other talents and interests.
Upon the completion of their new banking facilities.
It is a credit to the community.
