Homecoming DO YOU KNOW YOUR FOOTBALL? HERE ARE THE PLAYS WITH FUNNY NAMES

At McMurry
McMurry college, with its start-
ing lineup revamped after four
straight losses, plays Southwestern
in a homecoming game here today
Kickoff time for the Braves last
home melee and season semifinal is
2 o'clock
Brought together again are the
Indians and their former coach, R.
M Medley, who tutored the reser-
vation athletes 16 seasons before
departing in August of 1939 for
Southwestern.
Coach Jim Conger of the Indians
is shooting a different combination
at the Bucs. It includes two changes
in the backfield and puts Zoom
Schultz and Frazier Damron in the
same secondary for the first time
Doug Cox and Doc Ellis are the
other starters. The latter is Mc-
Murry’s prize freshman, with pass-
ing his specialty.
A pair of freshmen will start in
the line. Jack Thomas at left guard
and Jack Hammond at center
Other shifts in the line find J. E
Garrett back at end with Ned
Kempson taking over his tackle
post, and Leonard Rienz in at guard
in the place of Doyle Mathers. Ar-
thur Wylie, left tackle, and Shed
Ragsdale, left end, are at their old
stands
A passing duel is in prospect even
if the field should be muddy The
Medleymen are the passin‘est team
in the Texas conference while the.
Indians like to throw, too
Third place in final conference
tabulations is at stake.

ROUNDUP
NEW YORK. Nov 7.—(P)—New
York City, which prides itself on
it’s indifference unless the event is
something important like a bar-
gain basement sale, is all worked
up today in its role as host to a
trio of football agmes.
Everyone of the 76,000 seats
in Yankee stadium has been
sold for the twenty-ninth meet-
ing between Notre Dame and
army in which the Irish are 3
to 1 favorites to gain their
twenty-first triumph.

Georgia Tech will be defending

IN THE SOUTHWEST
Baylor, making a belated entry

scramble, has a tough assignment
in Texas, which also wants the ti-

chance to improve their record
against Southern Methodist. Ark-
ansas entertains Rice.
UCLA, getting stronger each
rating, has one of its severest
tests in the long train ride and
a strong Oregon club while
California is a slight favorite
over Southern California in
their annual “big” game.
