ANOTHER ONE
BITES THEDUST HOMECOMING
ELECTIONS
Thursday, Oct. 2, was probably
one of the best volleyball games
in the season yet. The LaGrange
girls, last years district champs,
met a much improved Giddings team
here. The first game was a back
and forth battle between the two
teams with Giddings pulling out
at the end in time to win as the
clock ran out. The score was 12-8.
In the second game, LaGrange, a
very good team still this year,
was determined to win and it
looked as if they would as they
went ahead 12-0. The Giddings
girls, fighters to the end,
would not be put down and with
their enthusiasm finally set off,
they flew back into the game.
Again time ran out but this time
the game had to be played out
and when the smoke cleared it
was Giddings on top once more 17-15.
The girls have also played
Luling, who was their first
district opponent, and defeated
them in two easy games. The
last team they played was Elgin
and they were a little more of a
challenge but in the end were
put down by the Buffaloes.
Varsity’s record is now 3-0
and they’re still going strong!
With LaGrange as their toughest
opponent the girls are well on
their way to district champion-
ship. Come on out and back our
Buffs!
This year, the elections for
Homecoming will be slightly
different. There will be 4 senior
girls nominated by each class, and
each class other than the seniors
and each club will have a repre-
sentative for the Homecoming
court. There is a possibility of
16 girls running for the election,
but this number can be limited
to 4, depending on nominations
by each class. Only the senior
girls nominated by the classes
will be elegible for the actual
election. The girls that are chosen
to represent the clubs, and the
Junior, Sophomore, and Freshman
will only be representing that
club or class in the Homecoming
court. If, by chance, the repre-
sentative from a club is a senior
girl, she still cannot participate
in the actual election.
The election will be based upon
popular vote this year, instead
of a penny a vote.

MEMORIES
Memories are things you treasure,
Reminders of happy things
And great times you’ve had.
Memories are sincere,
They go deep down
To make your heart feel warm.
Memories are
J ike stars
Sometimes they fade away
But always come back and shine. '
