Tax Cut Situation
in Uncertain State
Inited Presa,
WASHINGTON. Nov. 16.
There will be a tax reduction soon
—but how much. when and where
are moot questions which have I
both the executive and legislative
branches of the government puz- 1
zled today.
Check up developments at the
White House. Treasury, House and
Senate discloses an existing dis-
satisfaction and disagreement over
the legislation unequalled by any
similar legislative proposal of re- i
cent years.
In the first place, the House
ways and means committee which I
must initiate any action upon the j
administration proposal for a tax '
cut is in session upon the rela- '
lively unimportant matter of
alien property claims, with no im-
mediate intention of taking up the ■
tax matter.

corporations earning more than ;
$5,000,000 a year, would receive '

These latest figures are based
on 1 92 4 incomes. The tax re-
funds would be on 1925 incomes.
