DRESS CODE:
When purchasing school cloth-
ing, please be aware of the follow-
ing guidelines:
Any clothing, hairstyle, or other
part of a student’s appearance that
disrupts class will not be allowed.
Clothes that are too revealing )e.g.
tank tops, mesh shirts), shirts that
display inappropriate messages,
tattoos, headbands, hair length on
boys that exceeds the bottom of
the collar, and spray color in hair
are examples of some dress code
restrictions.
Bike shorts may only be worn
under regular shorts. Girls must
wear shorts and skirts that are no
shorter than their fingertips when
their arms are extended straight
down their side.
■ Shirts and blouses should be
long enough to tuck in or com-
pletely cover the midriff at all
times. No head covering will be
permitted for boys or girls.
Boys are not permitted to wear
earrings. Extremely faddish attire
is prohibited i.e.; “grunge”, gang
related, wallets with chains, baggy
pants or pants worn below the
waistline.
NEW STAFF
■ Sarah Vacek will join Curing-
ton Elementary as our new 6th
grade reading teacher. Sarah
comes to us from San Antonio
where she has taught for the past
4 years. Sarah and her husband
will be moving to Boerne. Sarah
will be a great asset to our Boerne
Outdoor Academy as well with her
love of boating, hiking and fishing.
■ Crystal Amthor will join Cur-
ington Elementary as our new 4th
grade science and social studies
teacher. Many of you may already
know Crystal, as she was a long-
term sub in 4th grade this year fill-
ing in for one of our teachers who
was out on maternity leave. We
are very pleased to have Crystal
remain on our staff. Crystal enjoys
reading, hunting and fishing.
