April 10 in the lovely new
home of Mrs. Elton Geeslin
with Mrs. Clyde Cockrum,
Sr., as co-hostess.
Mrs. Vijay Koli and Mrs.
N. K. Mazumdar were
guests.
Mrs. Wilson Head was
director of the program and
Mrs. Julian Evans gave the
invocation. Mrs. Head gave
some poems and tributes
about Texas, and then
introduced Mrs. Walter
Summy, who gave the
“Facts and First Oddities of
Texas".
Mrs. Tom Collier carried
us through the “Bishop’s
Palace, Galveston, and Mrs.
Fred Reynolds pictured the
oldest Protestant church in
Texas, “Lockhart’s Little

Virgil Edward Tubbs, of
Caradan, Texas passed
away April 12, 1980 at
5:00 p.m. at Scott & White
Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Funeral services were
held Monday April 14, at
2:00 p.m. in Wilkins
Chapel, Goldthwaite, with
Bro. James Robertson offici-
ating, assisted by Bro. Doug
Holtzclaw. Interment was in
the Caradan Cemetery.
Mr. Tubbs, 66, was born
December 4, 1913 at South
Permalia in Coryell County.
On August 15, 1936, he
married Minnie Odessa
Lindsey in Goldthwaite. He
lived in Mills County most
of his life. He was a farmer
and rancher.

John Brim Passes Away

Funeral services for John grandchildren and three
L. Brim of 708 3rd Street in step great-grandchildren; a

Mr. Brim passed away
Monday, April 14 after a
lengthy illness at Brown-
wood Community Hospital.
He was born May 28,
1909 in Goldthwaite. His
parents were L. P. Brim and
Fannie Carroll Brim.
He served in the Air
Force during World War II,
and was retired from the
Phillips Petroleum Co.
Burial was in the Sunset
Memorial Gardens Ceme-
tery in Odessa.
Mr. Brim married Julia
Nott in Odessa on May 16,
1966.

On this day, the 14th day of April, A.D. 1980 in the Regular Session of
the Commissioners‘ Court of Mills County, Texas, came on for examination the
quarterly report of Dee Harris, Treasurer of Mills County, Texas, for the quar-
ter beginning January 1, 1980, and ending March 31, 1980 filed herein on the
14th day of April, 1980 and the same having been compared and examined by the
Court and found to be correct.
IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED by the Commissioners’ Court that. the same be and is
hereby approved; and it appearing to, the Court that during said time the said
County Treasurer had received for account and credit of, and paid out of each of
