Deep sea divers have got in on
the act at the Paint Creek generat-
ing plant being completed by West
Texas Utilities Co.
Heavy rains brought it about.
The plant includes a giant 85-
inch line to discharge water used I
in the plant out into the middl
of the lake.
This bulk line is across Horse
Creek when rain water came
down, out went two sections of
the line A temporary dam was
built so the damage could be re-
paired That washed out.
So a barge was imported along
with a couple of divers to repair
the line which, at points, is at
the bottom of a channel filled now
with 18 feet of water.

The IO officers included two Air
Force men. All were in the third
group of prisoners to be returned
during the day. Presumably they
were from Camp 2 where the offi-
cers were segregated.
The Reds also sent back 250
South Koreans and received in re-
turn 2,400 North Koreans.
Despite the cool but sunny day,
the Korean Reda discarded their
American prison clothing just be-
fore bopping out of their trucks.
Previously they bad pitched clothes
out along the road.
Convoys of Korean Reds, chant-
fog. waving red flags and carrying
crudely lettered banners, passed
within only a few feet of the south-
bound Allied prisoners on their way
to processing centers. No incidents
were reported.
The first two large deliveries of
Americans were entirely enlisted
men, including one Navy hospital
man and a handful of Marines.

Smooth Road Out.
OMAHA un—When the city kept
delaying a neighborhood paving
project, the women took things into
their own hands.
Fifteen women and their children
turned out with hoes, shovels,
rakes and picks to do something
about the ruts and rocks. Mrs.
Dale McKeighan organized the
work detail after her husband ar-
ranged for four truck loads of dirt
and crushed rock. She described
the street as “too dangerous to
walk on, much less drive a ear
over."
