STOCKHOLM iff - The Royal
Swedish Academy of Science
awarded the ISM Nobel Prize in
physics Wednesday jointly to two
West German scientists who helped
lay the foundation of modern un-
clear physics.
The physics award of 181,546
krona (about $35,000) win be split
equally between Prof. Walther
Bothe, 63, of the Max Planck In-
stitute at Heidelberg, and Dr. Max
Bern, 73-year-old pioneer in theo-
retical physics who fled from the
Nazis to Britain in 1933 but who

the West German health resort of
