In Unidentified Formation
A Taylor County wildcat flowed
oil during drillstem tests taken in
the Gardner and Gray sands.
The prospective dual discovery
is S. C. Herring Drilling Co. of
Abilene No. 1 J. E. Cartwright,
Theo D Maltby Survey.
A drillstem test was taken at
4,518-40 feet in the Gardner Sand.
Gas was to the surface in 1%
minutes. No. 1 Cartwright flowed
oil in 27 minutes Flowing pressure
was 1,035 pounds: and shutin pres-
sure, 1.805 pounds
Operator took a drillstem test
from 4,595 to 4.614 feet in top of the
Gray. The tool was open for one
hour with gas surfacing in four
minutes. Recovery was 80 feet of
oil and gas-cut mud.
Gray Flows Oil
Another drillstem test in the
Gray Sand was taken at 4.616-54
feet. Gas surfaced in two minutes,
and oil flowed in 23 minutes. Flow-
ing pressure was 540 pounds; and
shutin pressure, 1.805 pounds
Casing is set at 4,685 feet and
the hole bottomed at 4,686 feet.
Operator was preparing to perfor-
ate at last report.
New Wildcat
V. C. Perini Jr., et al, of Abilene
No. 1 T J. Pinkston is a planned
4,500-foot rotary wildcat three miles
northeast of Tuscola. Drillsite is
330 feet from the north and 2.310

2,113-30 feet in the Flippen Sand
at Bridwell Oil Co. No. 1-A J. L.
Camp, Section 66. LAL Survey.
With the tool open for Pi hours,
recovery, was 35 feet of oil and
gas-cut mud.
It is a northwest offset to Hack
No. 1 Conley-Powell, recent Flip-
pen discovery.
A wildcat was plugged at 2.250
feet four miles south of Potosi. The
dry hole was West Central Drill-
ing Co. of Abilene No. 1-B G. A.

Site is 2.542 feet from the north
and 3,065 feet from the east lines

Black Drilling. Co., et al. of Albany
spotted No. 1 Taylor-Hays Unit as
a 3,500-foot rotary wildcat.
Location spots 330 feet from the 1
north and west lines of the north-
east quarter of Section, 60, BBB&C
Survey.
Daniels and Huddleston of Abi-
lene No. 1 L. T. Harris will be an
1,800-foot rotary wildcat two miles
southeast of Eula.
Site is 400 feet from the north
water. It flowed through a 16-64-
inch choke with packer on casing
and 80 pounds on tubing. Flow
was from 16 perforations at 3,174-76
feet. Total depth was 3.225, with
casing set at 3,221 feet.
Plugged at 2,620 feet was Gulf
Oil Corp. No. 16 R D. Williams,
et al. project in the Herr-King
Field six miles northeast of Baird

Stonewall Field -
Gains Producer
D. W. George of Tyler com-
pleted No. 1 L. Ashorn as a pro-
ducer in Stonewall County's Cor-
sica (Bend Conglomerate) Field
one mile south of Old Glory It is
in Section 2. Block B. AB&M
Survey.
Daily potential was 267.84 bar-
rels of 40 gravity oil, plus 5 per
cent water. Flow was through a 20-
64-inch choke with 40 pounds on
casing and 160 on tubing. Casing
was perforated with 80 shots at
6,046-56 feet, and pay was treated
with 500 gallons of acid. Total
depth was 6.106 feet, with casing
set at 6.096. -
Completed in the Clarice (Tan-
nehill) Field was Trice Produc-
tion Co. No. 3 Swenson, one and a
half mile northwest of Pastura in
Section 140. BBB&C Survey.
Daily potential was 77.72 barrels 1
of 38 gravity oil, pumping from six |
perforations per foot at 2,637-45 |
feet. Casing was set at 2,680 feet.

Shell 011 Co No. 1-A McDowell,
northwest Glasscock County wild-
cat, gave up interesting shows for
possible production.
A drillstem test at 6,490 - 8,546
feet, open two and a half hours,
surfaced gas in one hour with vol-
ume too small to measure. Recov-
ery was 120 feet of heavily oil and
gas-cut mud, estimated to be 30
per cent oil. Gravity was 35 de-
grees. Flowing pressure ranged
from zero to 100 pounds, and 1-
hour shut-in pressure was 2,500.
Drilling continued - below 1.644
feet in lime and shale. Location
is in Section 30, Block 34, T-2-S.
T&P Survey, 11 miles northwest
of Garden City. .
MIDLAND — Husky Oil Co. No.
1 Fasken, northwest county wild-
cat, was waiting on orders after
recovering oil on a drillstem test
of'the Ellenburger.
Section tested was from 13,097
to 13,140 feet, with tool open two
hours. Recovery was 3,140 feet of
water blanket and 1,365 feel of
muddy saltwater
Location is in Section 31, Block
39, T-1-S, T&P Survey, adjacent
to the west side of the City of

WINKLEK - Shell Oil Co No
1 17-A University, southwest Wink-
ler County wildcat, flowed gas on
a drillstem test at 12.175-12,347 feet.
With tool open three hours, gas
surfaced in 57 minutes, with vol-
ume too small to measure Re-Itest the Devonian.

PECOS - Gulf Oil Corp. No. 1-A
Robbins, southeast Pecos County
project, recorded another Pennsyl-
vanian flow on a drillstem test
from 10,114-10,192 feet, using a
2,000-foot water blanket and a %-
inch choke.
Gas surfaced in one hour, with
volume too small to measure. Wa-
ter blanket and mud surfaced in
three and a half hours, with flow
to pits in 20 minutes. The project
flowed 74.47 barrels of oil in five
hours. Gas volume at end of flow
was 287,000 cubic feet daily. Tool
was still open st last report.
Location is in Section 35, Block
126, T&STL Survey, 25 miles south-
east of Fort Stockton.
