THE TEXARKANIAN
F. G. WOOTTEN City Editor.
Mexico Japan and Russia are all
silver standard countries yet large
amounts of capital from the East-
ern states of this country as well
as from gold standard countries in
Europe are constantly seeking in-
vestment there. This fact is a com-
plete reply to the stock argument
of the goldbugs that the silver agi-
tation will keep capital away from
the South.
Fire Alarm Foraker who was
chairman of the platform commit-
tee is already trying to explain
that the gold standard platform does
not mean much anyway. The fact
is however that no party ever be-
fore declared for the single gold
standard.—Ex.
“I have never had a day’s sick-
ness in my life” said a middle-aged
man the other day.
“What a comfort it would be”
sighs some poor invalid “to be ip
his place for a year or two.” Yet
half of the invalids we see might be
just as healthy as he if they would
only take proper care of themselves
eat proper food and digest it.
It’s so strange that such simple
things are overlooked by those who
want health.
Food makes health.
It makes strength—and strength
wards off sickness. The man who
had never been sick was strong be-
cause he always digested his food
and you could become the same by
helping your stomach to work as
as well as his. Shaker Digestive
Cordial will help your stomach and
will make you strong and healthy
by making the food you eat make
you fat.

The Schools Have Closed.
The schools have closed and the
“Sweet Girl Graduate” and her sis-
ter will now have more time to de-
vote to their music during the long
summer days. Perhaps she needs a
new piano or organ. If so we are
at her service. We live to supply
the people with good instruments
and are fully equipped to fulfill our
mission.
We will be pleased to assist you
in your selection giving you the
benefit of our experience. There
are several things to consider. The
case may be handsome and the
carving superb but without the
proper tone and correct touch you
will miss it. No mistake can be
made when buying of us. We guar-
antee satisfaction and are able to
protect all agreements. Write us

Last summer one of our grand-
children was sick with a severe
bowel trouble. Our doctor's reme-
dies had failed then we tried Cham
berlain’s Colic Cholera and Diar-
rhea Remedy which gave very
speedy relief. We regard it as the
best medicine ever out on the mar
ket for bowel complaints.-Mrs. E.
G. Gregory Frederickstown Mo.
This certainly is the best medicine
ever put on the market for dysen-
tery. summer complaint code and
cholera infantum in children. It
never fails to give Oprompt riles
when used in reasonable time and
the plain printed directions are fol-

Among Some of the Fairest Scenes
On this continent and in the trop-
ics malaria poisons the atmosphere
with its pestilential breath sowing
the seeds of disease and death in
every direction. It is in such local-
ities that the preventive and reme-
dial qualities of Hostetter’s Stom-
ach Bitters are most conspicuously
shown. For every form of malaria
it is a signally efficacious remedy
and conquers disorders of the stom-
ach liver and bowels remedies in-
j activity of the kidneys and coun-
teracts the weakness and lack of
stamina which invites disease by
leveling the barrier which a vigor-
ous operation of the digestive and
secretive organs opposes to it. No
defensive medicine in use has stron-
ger commendations in professional
headquarters both for purity and
remedial qualities.

With a better understanding of the
transient nature of the many phys-
ical ills which vanish before proper ef-
forts—gentle efforts—pleasant efforts—-

the knowledge that so many forms of
