Funeral For Velma Summy Held January 19
Velma Summy of Goldthwaite,
passed away Thursday, January
17,; 1991 at Childress General
Hospital. She was 86 years of
age.
She was born July 31, 1905 in
Mills County, Texas. Her parents
were Jessie and Mollie (Harris)
O’Quinn.
On December 24, 1927 she
married Walter “Jake” Summy in
Mills County. She was a
Methodist.
Survivors are her husband,
Walter, of Goldthwaite; one son,
Walter Summy Jr. of Houston;
five grandchildren; one great
grandchild; and one sister, Elaine
Casbeer of Mississippi.
The funeral was Saturday,
January 19, 1991 at 2:00 P.M.
from the Stacy-Wilkins Funeral
Home Chapel in Goldthwaite.
Rev. Jim Tomlinson, pastor of the
First United Methodist Church
and Roland Fry, minister at the
Church of Christ,' officiated at the
rites. Burial was in the Goldth-
waite Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Summy,
Billie Summy, Darrell Ray Bollier,
Glynn Sanders, M. A. Childress,
Bob Steen, and Wallace Johnson.

Connally, Cindy Knight and
Andrea Geeslin.
Mina Kathryn Johnson gra-
duated from Angelo State Univer-
sity with a bachelor of science
degree. She received her degree
at the end of the fall semester.

As many of you know, the Mills County Livestock Raisers’ Association exitst for the sole purpose of spon-
soring the annual Mills County Stock Show and Youth Fair. The stock show this year was another huge suc-
cess, and we wish to thank everyone involved for their contributions, both physical and by buying premiums
and contributing to the livestock breeding programs. Special thanks to Judy Beavers and Danny Long for all
that they do for this worthwhile project, and all the other things they do for this community, and also to the
four Mills County FFA Advisors, and many, many other volunteers throughout the year.

Otto Doggett has reported he
has what may be a record
producer in a Suffolk Ewe. The
three-year-old ewe has had seven
lambs while she still has her
three year old teeth. She had a
single lamb the first two times,
then she produced triplets and
since that time has had a set of
twins.

The Eaglettes defeated the
Marble Falls girls in a contest
last Friday night at Marble Falls
by a score of 39-27. This gives
the Eaglettes an undisputed first6
place in 9-A Conference. Janell
Jernigan was high point for the
Eaglettes. Also scoring were
Marsha Edington, Arnette Sears,
Johnnie Elliott, Pam Berry and
Judy Cotcher.
Mrs. Willis Neal of Caradan
was one of the aliens to become
a Naturalized American Citizen at
San Angelo, Friday, January 13.
She is the former Helen Sebox of
- Ramocsahoaiz, Hungary. Mrs.
Neal came to American in 1952
and was married to Willis Neal at
Mt. Olive in 1953.
