This group of third graders participated in three Pee Wee basketball tournaments this year. They won
second at Priddy and Goldthwaite and played for consolation at Brookesmith. The team had a fine season

Dahlia Lane Passes Away On March 29th
1 * Dahlia Lucile "Ginky" Reid
J Lane, 89, died Monday, March 29,
| 1993 at Rolling Plains Memorial
Hospital in Sweetwater, Texas.
She would have reached her 90th
birthday if she had lived another
hour and a half. She was born
March 30, 1903 at the Pecan
Bayou near the Community of
Ridge in Mills County, Texas. Her
parents, Dyer Reid and Sarah
(James) Reid were pioneers to the
Mills County area. "Ginky" was
the last survivor of 11 children.
January 5, 1921 she married
Lennon Everett Lane at
Goldthwaite, Texas. The couple
was married for 55 years. She had
lived in and around Mills County
all her life, living in Goldthwaite

Besides all of her brothers and
sisters, she was also preceded in
death by her husband who died
August 25, 1977 and a son, R. L.
Lane, who died February22,1979.
Survivors include four sons,
Eldred of Goldthwaite, Bowie of
Lubbock, James of Sweetwater,
and Lealon of DeLeon; 15 grand-
children; five step-grandchildren;
27 great grandchildren; five step
great grandchildren; and two great
great grand children.
The funeral was conducted Fri-
day, April 2,1993 at 2:00 P.M. at
the Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home
Chapel in Goldthwaite. Jack
Vaughn, minister of the Assem-
bly of God Church in Goldthwaite
and Rev. Doug Holtzclaw, pastor
of the First Baptist Church in

Six girls will be presenting med-
als and ribbons to the winners of
the 11A District Track Meet to be
held here Friday. The girls are
Sandra Kemp, Virginia Basquez,
Deliah Wilcox, Nancy Gist, Jana
Duncan and Bonita Watson. These
girls were selected to represent
the 11A District by members of
the Goldthwaite Track Team.
The First Baptist Church Kin-
dergarten presented "The Three
Pigs" Operetta to parents and
friends Friday, March 30. The big
bad wolf was played by Stuart
Bridges and the three pigs were
Michael Shelton, Brent Petty and
Kurt Miller. Their teacher is Mrs.
Sue Schriver.
G. C. Head and Gerry Head of
Goldthwaite attended a regular
meeting of the Heart of Texas In-
surance Agent's Association last
week in Gatesville. Gerry was
elected secretary of the group for
the 1973-74 year.

stock Judging Contest sponsored
by the Brady Junior Chamber of

one hundred boys, Bobby Burks
was second high man of the con-
test, followed closely by Robert H.
Johnson.

way for highways 7 and 81. The
work is being supervised by county
commissioners McMurry,
Burnham and Burnett and is be-

ceived from the Reconstruction
Finance Corporation.
