Has 125 Members At
Annual Spring Affair

Club, Gives Invocation: Rev. Bert Helm
Addresses Group at Luncheon
One ludined and twenty five members of the Junior Woman’s
Club attended the annual spring luncheon held today at the
Women’s Club.
«V» A. W. Tenell, president of the Woman’s Club and
director of the Junior Club, gave the invocation. Luncheon music
— Waa eyaar Oy Miss Ruth Mulkey, violinist, and Miss Ruth
Murploee pianist.
Guest speaker was Rev. Bert Helm, pastor of the St. John’s
Ewvawgellicu Clurch. Me was introduced by Mrs. Carey Hiett.
The speaker’s table was centered with a large American flag
fasibioned entirely of flowers. The rod and white stripes were
formed off red verbenas and white candytuft, the blue field of
comflowers, and the white stars of candytuft. Down the table
from the centerpiece was arranged a line of tiny silk American
flags, each surrounded by miniature Colonial figurines and red,
white and due flowers. The skirt of the table cloth was ap-
plliqued with red, white and blue stripes and stars. At each end
off the table was a moiniataire drum, filled with flowers.
Each section of the Junior Club decorated its own table re-
peatiing the patriotic motif, using flags, miniature airplanes, Uncle

The first night was one of those
glamorous occasions, with beauti-
fully gowned women approaching
the auditorium entrance through a
white canopy. Many of them wore

Colonial Ballroom Tomorrow
Around 300 members of Colonial
Hills Club and their guests will
attend the formal opening of the
new ballroom tomorrow mgnt.
The ballroom which has been
built overlooking the pool to the
east of the club is decorated in a
dusty rose motif. The east wall
is entirely of plate glass, which
affords a view of the terrace and
pool. Draping the glass are heavy
rose damask curtains, which are
also used on the huge windows at

her fiance, Mr. Edward Y. Riggs,
who will be married May 3, were
honored at a surprise kitchen show-

the Broadway Baptist Church.
