Det. Carvin spoke with Deputy
Robert Carvin in reference to a wanted
person. ID'd as Larry Hendershot
who was wanted on several felony
warrants and was reportedly staying
in a motel in Giddings with a female
subject, ID'd as Stormie Whitley.
Dep. Carvin advised that Hendershot
was supposed to be driving a white 4-
door Chevrolet truck bearing TX LP
6DP-X94. Det. Carvin located the
vehicle parked in front of room #142
at the Ramada Inn. Parked next to
Hendersot's vehicle was a maroon
Chevrolet truck with a large personal-
ized sticker on the back window which
read "Stormie". She notified Dep.
Carvin and Ofc. Lovato that she lo-
cated the vehicles and parked her pa-
trol car on CR 226 and watched the
vehicles until the officers arrived for
backup. Dep. Carvin, Ofc. Lovato
and Det. Carvin approached the room
and knocked on the door and ID'd
them selves as police officers. Sev-
eral minutes passed until Hendershot
answered the door. The officers en-
tered the room and placed all three
occupants under arrest without inci-
dent. The occupants of the room were
ID'd as Larry Hendershot, Stormie
Whitley and Cydney Crider. All three
were seated separately in the patrol
cars while the motel room was
searched. Sitting in plain view, on the
coffee table was a small brown glass
bottle containing a clear liquid sub-
stance. later ID’d as PCP. In the seat
cushions of the couch. Det. Carvin
located a clear plastic wrapper con-
taining a white crystal substance along
with the keys to Hendershot’s truck, they would be checking the video as

Based upon training and experience,
she knew the substance to be crystal
methamphetamine. In the top drawer
of the TV cabinet, she located a pouch
containing more crystal meth and co-
caine. The remainder of the room was
searched resulting in recovery of glass
pipes (used for smoking illegal drugs),
scales, and several other drug para-
phernalia items. Whitley gave con-
sent for officers to search her vehicle.
In the back seat pouch, Det. Carvin
located a small green box, which con-
tained several small plastic baggies
with a white powdery residue, be-
lieved to be cocaine. Hendershot re-
fused to give officers consent to search
his truck, which was towed from the
scene. A search warrant was pursued
by Dep. Carvin to search Hendershot's
vehicle. All three subjects were trans-
ported to the Lee Co. Sheriff's Of-
fice. After interviewing all three sub-
jects it was clear that Whitley and
Hendershot were aware of the illegal
drugs in the room and were both

charged with several counts of pos-
session of a controlled substance.
Crider, who had just arrived at the
room minutes prior to officers’ arrival,
was released. Hendershot was held at
the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Whitley was transported and held at
the GPD.

Ofc. Kays responded to Lee
County General Store in reference to
theft of a vehicle over the weekend.
Upon arrival, he met with Steven
Schautschick, the manager, who ad-
vised that he arrived at work on the
morning of 2/26/07 and observed the
chain behind the store lying on the
ground. After investigating the area,
he learned that one of the coop trucks
had been stolen. He advised that it
was a 1986 Ford flatbed attached to a
liquid feed trailer. Ofc. Kays asked
Steven when the truck was last seen
on the property and he said, Saturday
at 4:00 p.m. when they closed. Steven
said that he spoke with a competitor
ID'd as James Schimank and asked
him if he had seen the vehicle around
town. Schimank advised that it just
so happened that he was driving by
Walch Store in Lincoln on Sunday
around 5:00 p.m. and observed that
vehicle sitting at the gas pumps and
thought it was odd, but didn't call
anyone because he didn't want to be
nosey. He said that it was two His-
panics approximately 40 - 50 years
old. Steven advised Walch Store has
cameras and that they arc always re-
cording. Ofc. Kays contacted the
manager of Walch's Store who advised
soon as possible. Ofc. Kays asked
the manager to contact him as soon as
it was viewed. Steven stated that the
liquid feed trailer still had approxi-
mately $375 left inside the tank. The
value of the truck is approx. $4000
and the value of the trailer is approx.
$5,630. Ofc. Kays gathered all proper
information and provided dispatch
with information to enter the vehicle
in TCIC/NCIC. Case under investi-
gation.

Ofc. Ramsey and Ofc. Kays re-
sponded to a call at the Ramada Inn in
reference to criminal mischief. Upon
arrival, Ofc. Ramsey spoke with Juana
Munoz who stated that room 106 and
142 had small holes in the walls from
a dartboard being hung on the wall.
Ofc. Ramsey took photos of the dam-
age in both rooms. The manager called
and told Juana that the damage amount
is $1200 for both rooms. Juana re-
ported that both were purchased by
Larry Hendershot. She signed the
complaint against Larry for criminal
mischief.
February 27, 2007
Sgt Montgomery observed a black
'03 Hyundai traveling with an expired
registration. The registration expired
10/06. He initiated a traffic stop for
expired registration and made contact
with the driver, ID’d as Phong Nguyen.
A check of Nguyen’s DL came up
currently under SR suspension for no
insurance. He was unable to display
an insurance card at the time of the
stop. His DL had been suspended
since 10/06. He was issued a citation
for the suspended DL and released.

Ofc. Law overheard a call for a reck-
less driver dispatched to the Lee Co.
Sheriff’s Dept, units. County dis-
patch advised that the vehicle, a dark
colored large 4-door, possibly Lincoln
or Cadillac, was failing to maintain a
single lane and was driving into on-
coming traffic. The vehicle was re-
ported heading eastbound west of
Giddings on Hwy 290. Ofc. Law
headed toward the west city limits
and overheard the county tell the
county units that the vehicle had en-
tered the city limits. At that point.
Ofc. Law observed a dark colored
Cadillac pass him headed eastbound
in the 1800 blk. of E. Austin with the
high beams on. He turned around and
while attempting to catch up with the
car, he observed it go into the center
turn lane, come back into the inside
lane and return to turn lane staying in
the turn lane. Ofc. Law activated
emergency lights and got behind the
Cadillac. It slowed and turned south
onto Dallas Street before slowly com
ing to a stop. Ofc. Law approached
the driver. ID’d as Bridget Darchelle
Griffin of Bryan, and ID’d himself as
a GPD officer and asked for her DL
and proof of liability insurance. She
produced her insurance card and be-
gan searching through her purse. She
was very slow and deliberate in her
movements and searched the same ar-
eas of her purse for several minutes.
Griffin continued to search the same
things over and over again before Ofc.
Law asked her to exit the vehicle. She
slowly put her shoes on and exited
her car. Ofc. Law did not detect any
odor of alcohol or signs of alcohol con-
sumption, but did see that she ap-
peared to be impaired. He asked Grif-
fin if she had been drinking and she
stated that she had not. He then asked the Lorazapam and Phentermine warn
it she had been taking any drugs and against operating machinery or driv-

Chief Davis received a report of
Criminal Mischief after a complain
ant discovered her car w indow bro-
ken out in the area of Ave F. Further
investigation revealed that the adjoin
ing yard had recently been mowed,
and fresh grass was located on the
car door and fender near the broken
window. It is believe that a rock, or
other object, was thrown up by the
mower, causing the window to break
The complainant stated that she
would contact the person who had
mowed the yard.
Chief Davis received a call to the
area of Wells Street alter a home
owner discovered pry marks on his
rear door. The complainant reported
the incident had to have occurred
with in the past three days. No en-
try was gained into the residence.
Chief Davis and Sgt Connolly re-
sponded to a residence on Cherry
Street in regards to a possible family
disturbance. Officers spoke to all
family members present and deter-
mined no disturbance would occur
after officers departure. A senior
family member elected to remain at
the home with the rest of the family
to insure no incident occurred. No
further calls were received from the
residence.

front of the patrol car where he con-
ducted the standardized field sobri-
ety tests. He observed one clue on
the horizontal gaze nystagmus and all
clues on the walk and turn test. He
then observed three out of four clues
on the one leg stand test. Griffin was
taken into custody for driving while
intoxicated and transported to the
Giddings PD for processing. Upon
arrival at the jail. Ofc. Law advised
Griffin of her Miranda rights and
statutory warning. She stated that
she understood her rights but refused
to give a sample of her blood. While
processing Griffin's book-in paper-
work. she explained about her numer-
ous medical problems and stated that
she had numerous internal problems
and was on several different medica-
tions. including a patch that adminis-
ters medication transdermally. She was
found to be in possession of four dif-
ferent prescriptions medications de-
scribed as Vivelle (hormone medica-
tion), Lorazapam (anti-anxiety), and
Phentermine (weight loss drug). Both
by poison control, but they advised
was more than likely an over the
counter drug. She was booked with
out incident.

cated on 3rd Street discovered per
sons inside the residence. Contact and
identification was made with the per-
sons who were determined to a 45
year old male family member of a pre
vious occupant, and a 17 year old fe-
male neighbor. The male subject lo-
cated in the home was found to have
felony warrants issued against him, that he had been smoking the tobacco
and was immediately detained, and
transported to Lee County Jail. The
17 year old female located in the resi-
dence was released pending further in-
vestigation The officer received in
formation that the persons had been
smoking marijuana in the residence
prior to the officers arrival, and the
female was identified as concealing the
marijuana in her purse, and car. Sgt
Connolly and Chief Davis received a
consent to search on the females car
that still contained the purse. A us-
able amount of marijuana was recov-
ered from the vehicle. The female was
detained and transported to Lee
County jail for possession of Mari-
juana. Additional charges are pending
for burglary of a building in this mat-
ter.

Officer Hilton received a report of complainant was able to retrieve her
a teal colored vehicle being operated
in a reckless manner in the area of the
Old Town. The vehicle was not lo-
cated and believed to have left the area
prior to police arrival
Officer Stahl responded to a report
of a suspicious vehicle located at a
local bank. No suspicious activity was
observed at the location, and the ve-
hicle was determined to be a local car
left in the parking lot.
March 1, 2007
Officer Hilton received a report of
forged checks being passed at a local
business. The matter is under invest!
gation. w ith a suspect identified.
Officer Hilton received a report of
theft of water in the area of Rockdale
and Cherry St. Upon arrival Officers
identified a man pumping water from
a city fire hydrant into a 1500 gallon
water truck. A citation was issued in
the incident.
Officer Hilton received a request
for information regarding a vehicle in-
volved in a divorce settlement. The
matter was of a civil nature and the
complainant was so advised.
Officer Stahl received a dispatched
call to a report of loose livestock in
the area of Hwy 696, and Hwy 1 12.
The officer was unable to locate live-
stock causing a hazard in the area.
Officer Stahl received a walk in
complainant regarding a civil matter
occurring out side Lexington City ju-
risdiction. The complainant was ad-
vised the matter was civil.
Officer Stahl conducted a traffic
stop on a vehicle occupied by two 17
year old males, for disregarding a stop
sign at the intersection of Rockdale
Street, and 7'" Street. During the stop
the officer detected the odor of to-
bacco emitting from the vehicle. The
officer requested and received consent
to search the vehicle from the occu-
pants. The officer located tobacco
product still burning in the ashtray.
The passenger admitted to the officer
The passenger received a citation for
Minor in Possession of a tobacco prod
uct, and the driver of the vehicle re
ceived a citation for No Drivers Li-
cense. The vehicle was impounded as
a result of the stop. 1
March 2, 2007
Sgt Connolly received a complaint
of two suspicious males on the south
side of Ave E. Police were unable to
locate the 2 males.
Sgt Connolly received a report of a
vehicle missing from a local residence.
A report was taken from the owner
and the vehicle was soon located in
Giddings Texas occupied by two fe-
males and two males. Further invest!

revealed one of the two male passen-
gers was concealing a hand gun. The
vehicle and the driver of the car was
detained at Lee County Sheriffs De-
partment for Unauthorized use of
Motor Vehicle. The male passenger
of the car that was found in posses-
sion of hand gun was also detained
and charges with illegal Possession of
fire arm.
March 1, 2007
Sgt Connolly received a report of
loud music in the 800 blk of Hale.
The officer responded to the area,
however the noise had been brought
under control upon his arrival.
Sgt Connolly responded to a report
of a domestic disturbance in that area
of 3"1 street. Upon arrival, it was dis-
covered the disturbance was verbal in
nature, and both parties were advised
accordingly.
March 4. 2007
Officer Stahl received a dispatch to
a report of a vehicle accident in the
area of Hester Street and Rockdale
Street. According to the officers re-
port a local white female was travel-
ing south on Rockdale Street ap-
proaching the intersection at Hester
Street. The female attempted to break
for a vehicle located in the southbound
lane attempting a left turn. The fe-
male driver apparently engaged the
accelerator, instead of the break, caus-
ing the vehicle to gain speed The
driver maneuvered the vehicle to the
right of the roadway striking an
earthen ditch causing severe damage
to her car. No injuries were reported
as a result of the incident.
Officer Stahl received a walk in
complaint of forgery from the owner
of a local business located on Main
Street, after checks were passed at the
business on a closed account, The
matter remains under investigation.
