PAGE 15A
Don’t miss the Memorial Day Ceremony and Concert
Good morning, afternoon, or
evening whichever the case may
be. I am always so very happy to
be coming like this to you every
Friday, and I LOVE IT whenever
a reader of this column stops me
to tell me they read it and like it,
especially gentlemen. Wow!
4 Monday, May 25, is an impor-
tant day in Boerne. The ceremony
for Memorial Day will be at the
Boerne Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
Exact information will be in
today’s Boerne Star. Then that
evening at 7 p.m. the wonderful
* Boerne Concert Band will have a
concert on Main Plaza, and I feel
sure we will hear some marvelous
patriotic music and other rendi-
tions. What a lucky town this is to
have so many fantastic talented,
devoted citizens!
Guess you know by now that
First Class postage is 44 cents!
About 90 devoted friends and
loved ones enjoyed the 60th wed-
ding anniversary party for Pat
and Dick Schneider last Satur-
day evening at the palatial home
of Sally and Roy Barrera, Jr. A
nostalgic film was shown, cham-
pagne toasts were given and the
customary cake was enjoyed. It
was also learned that Carmen
and Roy Barrera, Sr., celebrated
their 60th anniversary last year. A
grand time was had by all!
VIRGINIA TALBOT HOMER
from Orland, Calif., admired my
white orchid corsage from the
family at the Bear Moon Bakery,
and I discovered that she was one
live wire. She takes a trip some-
where special every month and
stays very fit and trim playing golf
regularly. Way to go Virginia!
Besides the delicious food,
excellent service and ambiance at
The Creek Restaurant, one meets
the nicest people there. Tracy,
Bobby and I had lunch there May
12 and we saw a dear friend with
two female companions. Mary
Ann Eichman, Cheryl Ladd’s sis-
ter, was with Phyllis Buck of
Georgetown and her daughter,
Barbara Cyrus. Mary Ann told
us the great news that her sister,
Cheryl Ladd, is considering mov-
ing to this area! Wow! I love both
of those ladies; they don’t come
any finer!
One more unusual thing - how
about that picture on the front page
of the San Antonio Express-News
May 14 when 180 eighth grade
students of Boerne Middle School
North reenacted key scenes from
the American Revolution on our
Main Plaza? Congratulations!

we can expect from a giant.
Oh yes, another very courteous,
helpful employee, JOHN WIL-

to the temporary quarters of the
pharmacy which “wasn’t doing
anything” elsewhere for the
comfort of seniors and patients
waiting. Many thanks!
