New Deadline Is Set For
Thursday; Workers to
Meet Tuesday
Community Chest fund solicitors
pushed their campaign total to
$213,178.62 today as General
Chairman A. L. Shuman announc-
ed extension of the drive through
another week.
• .Workers brought in $16,489.53 in
additional subscriptions at today’s
report luncheon at the Blackstone
Hotel, leaving $99,416.55 to be
raised , in the drive toward the
$312,595 goal .
. The drive was scheduled to have
ended at today's report meeting.
There will be no report meeting
tomorrow. Mr. Shuman asked all
members of the General Sales
Army to meet at Chest headquar-
ters in the Majestic Bldg. at 3:30
p. m. Monday when outstanding
cards will be given out.
Workers will assemble Tuesday
noon at the Blackstone Hotel for
their next report meeting. The
final nesting Is set for Thursday

"what the doctor ordered.”
The idea cams from a physician
in an emergency hospital who, ac-
cording to a report in a recent
medical journal, wrote the Chry-
sler Engineering Department that
many of the serious results of
auto accidents could be prevented
if the cars were properly con-1
structed.. : T
Acting on this suggestion, , the
firm set all instrument and in-
terior projections flush or recess,
ed, and, surprisingly, they look
just as smart as before.
Parts Mounted on Rubber.
E. F. Chain, sales manager tor

me a lot of things in which tech-
nically-minded people should be

Funeral services for Frank
Reed, 1532 Vickery Blvd., will be
at Harveson-Cole Funeral Chapel
at 2 p. m. tomorrow, with Rev.
William Sisserson officiating. Bur-
ial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Reed was 64. He died at
the residence yesterday of a heart
attack. He had been a car Inspec-
tor for the Texas & Pacific Rail-
way for 40 years.
The only survivor is his wife,
who is under a physician's care.
Masonic rites will be at the grave
tomorrow and members of the
Masonic Lodge will be active pall-
bearers. Pallbearers will be E. C.
Thomas, W. J. Croxdale, C. Mac-
Jin, Tom Chancellor, Alec Herd,
John Perry, Jim Cobb and John
Choate.

Mrs. Semma Castles. 2424 Re-
fugio Ave., died at her residence
last night. She was 51, and moved
here from Jewett about two weeks
ago.

dis Church near Jewett at 2 p. m.
tomorrow. Burial will be in Sardis
Cemetery. The funeral cortege will
leave Robertson - 'Mueller - Harper
Funeral Home early tomorrow.
Survivors are a son, T. A. Cas-
tles, Fort Worth; two brothers,
James and Thad Urquhart, both
of Jewett; and two sisters, Mrs.
Alla Crenshaw, Puron: Mrs Nar-
cie McClinton, Collidge.
