Speeding outside a school zone
will have a $28.00 court fee plus
the line.
There is some good news. Driv-
ers can now request to take a driv-
ing safety course once a year in-
stead of every two years. The bad
news is the lees, and to get your
driving record Irom Austin is now
S10.00, plus whatever the course
costs. Those who want defferred
adjudication must now take a driver
safety course plus pay fees and
any bond required.
These courses keep off your
insurance record tickets which
could raise your insurance cost
for three to five even more than
the above fees.

counties.

any Justice of the Peace Court,
The State Comptroller office and
The Department of Public Safety.
Municipal court charges and
fines can be added by checking
with your local Municipal courts.

gather for the Regular Septem-
ber Meeting. Your presence as a
member is greatly needed; plan-
ning for the October fifth date to
host the Twenty-third District
Convention needs some polish-
ing and in some points a little
repair and construction. Can you
be depended upon?
Earlier in the days before the
Convention the Post Home could
use some labor in doing some-
painting, cleaning and just handy
man activities around the Post to
make it standout a little belter for
our guest. If your thumbs are on
the same side of both hands you
can be of use. There will be sev-
eral work days there for you to
demonstrate your poweress. This
is our Post and Auxiliary Unit—
Yours and mine— so why not make
it the best Post in the Land?
The production from the sand
bar on the Colorado will be be-
fore the Voters on November fifth
ninteen hundred ninety one. Will
you be in a position to make a
reasonable judgement and make
asuitable decision on the thirteen
subjects listed in the thirteen
amendments? The summary on
the Ballot will be about four to
eight lines. Will this be sufficient
explanation for an informed Vote?
The money, privacy and freedom
taken away in this type election is
more of the continued erosion of
freedoms. If you can sort them
out, these amendments are in
■three catagories: Good, Bad and
Awful.
work and conclusion these staunch
laborers in the State law factory is
that of the retirement program
they set up for themselves. They
like those in the National con-
gress maneuvered this through in
the "wee hours" so it would be
very inconspicuous to the "whistle
blowers" and the eventual tax payer.
We have one "hole card" we have

DILLEY - Dilley Post 444
& Auxiliary Unit will be in Regu-
lar Meeting at the Post Home 109
N. Commerce St. Dilley, Texas.
Dilley Lodge
Open House
Dilley - Dilley Lodge 1301 AF
& AM will have Public Open
House at the Lodge Temple 233
W. Hwy. 117 in Dilley Texas from
2 to 5 p.m. Sunday September 22,
1991. Please be our guest. Re-
freshments will be served
the Vote in a few years and that
should separate the "grain from
the chaff.
This brings the Voters to the
question and could be considered
a problem: Should all elected
offices have a limited number of
years in that office? Our suberb to
the North has placed their City
Council on that limit. Also, a
number of states have decided that
limited tenure in office is good
and have elected to go that way--
- should Texas? Think about it.
On all the above there is no
"off year elections." The laws placed
before the voters is sure to be
defeated of cost the citizens taxes.
The choice is yours and mine.
Some things close to home and
at hand. The sure thing is that a
great deal of regulations are being
placed upon the public—you and
me—and we have very little savin
happenings. Read over a part of
the amendments and went to sleep
on about the fourth. Won’t com-
mon English explain these things
sufficiently? The MlA’s and POWs
in the slave labor camps of the far
east continue to gather callouses
and abuse from their gangster slave
lords.The Legionnaire wants the
rest of this great Nation to know
- these comrade will not be for
gotten each day they arc in our
thoughts and prayers. We know
that this Great Nation should be
turning every rock in the Penin-
sula over and stacking them to
find these People. Some may say
that is the casualties of war— not
to us. We will remember.
Parting: One wonders what is
accomplished by inspection tours.
It is easy to start a row in hoi
weather, but it is too hot to fight.
There are warnings enough. If they
are what you are looking for.
And an old-timer, when asked
to what did he attribute his re
markable health, replied that he
apparently got a good start on
most people by being born before
germs were discovered, thereby
less to worry about.
