Blues Again Today
The llorger Scholars baseball
team today will try for their
second victory in two weeks over
the Amarillo Blues when they
meet that team on its own
grounds
The contest will be played on
the field situated on the Canyon
Highway about a mile out of
Amarillo. It Is set for 2:30 p.
m.
Johnny Martlu and 1. D. Miles
are scheduled to divide pitching
duties for the Borgans.

been suggested as awards to

each player having won (one hole.
Both medal scores were 30. which
was good, considering the wind.
On the second nine, Lanniug-

go one up. Karl also won the
fourth and fifth holes and tied
on the other holes, as Storle
couldn't squeexe through to win n
hole on the back nine.
Jack Knight is a slight fav-
orite to defeat Worth Nance, al-
though Nance has been the dark
horse and giant killer or the
tournament so far, with victories
over Dr. Waldo Ueckley, and
Frank Evans, and to meet Lann-
Ingluuii in the final match.

ningham, let loose with all he had on the closing holes today to beat out U. S. open
champion Byron Nelson, X up in 87 holes, and win the National P. G. A. Golf Cham-
pionship.
Before a gallery of 1500 that saw one of the toughest yet one of the friendliest
finals the history of the professional tournament, Picard won with two booming
tee shots and two fine putts'

gross honors In the ladies day
sweepstakes last week with a
nine hole total of 50. Mrs. H. G-
Wallace, Mrs. fittsle Turner, and
Mrs. O. Henderson were the oth-

The new handicaps given out
for July show that the women
are improving their scores very
rapidly.
Plans are now being made to
hold a big medal day tournament
