tonio Division No. 4. First Texas Regi-
ment. U. R. K. of P.:
Your committee appointed to draft
resolutions on the Corpus Christi excur-
sion beg leave to report the following:
Whereas San Antonio Division No. 4
First Texas Regiment U. R. K. of P.
was the recipient of unlimited courtesies
on the occasion of its recent excursion to
Corpus Christi; and
Whereas- We feel it to be our duty as
well as pleasure to officially recognize
these courtesies and show that they are
duly appreciated therefore be it
Resolved That the sincere thanks of
this Division be extended
1. To the San Antonio and Aransas
Pass Railway company for the prompt
and liberal manner in which ample ac-
commodations of a first-class character
were provided and for the general effici-
ency and courtesy of its employes.
2. To Mr. R. W. Andrews the genial
and gentlemanly general passenger agent
of the above corporation for many cour-
tesies.
3. To Trainmaster Davidson for his
personal attention and vigilance in
looking after the management of the
train.
4. To Conductors Shoff and Elliott who
spared no effort to contribute to the wel-
fare and comfort of all on board.
5. To Mayor Keller of Corpus Christi
Julius Henry and Marshal Mussett for
the royal manner in which we were receiv-
ed and entertained and for a hundred
courtesies which we can not now enumer-
ate.
6. To Colonel E. 11. Ropes the brilliant
orator and progressivecitizen whose kind-
ly words of greeting voiced the welcome
of his fellow citizens.
7. To the ladies of Corpus Christi who
honored us with their presence at the re-
ception in the ball-room and at the ban-
quet.
8. To the citizens of Corpus Christi in
general in recognition of the fact that we
received at their hands every kindness
and courtesy that could be extended by a
generous and hospitable people.
9. To the members of Queen Bee Lodge

their presence on that occasion.
10. Also to the ladies and gentlemen
generally who by their attendance added
much to the pleasure and contributed
largely to the success of the excursion.
Resolved That these resolutions be
spread upon the records of the Division
and that a copy of the same be furnished

papers.

The democrats are needlessly ex-
ercising themselves over republican
differences. Better keep cool and
wait until the fire opens along the
line after the conventions are held.
The republicans will make it hot
enough for all practical purposes
without starting the fires unnecessa-
rily.

The Fort Worth Gazette with its
usual politeness and sense of propri-
ety calls President Harrison an
“economic chump” and the postmas-
ter general “Cheap John.” Those
who have taken the measure of the
Gazette do not expect anything better.
The other fellows will have to put up
withit. Hairison was not so big a
booby as the fellow he distanced in
November 1888—that year of blessed
memory.
Oh;What a Cough.
No. 4. Will you heed the warning. The sig-
nal perhaps of the sure approach of that
more terrible disease Consumption. Ask
yourself if you can Afford for the sake of
saving 50 cents to run the risk and do nothing
for it. We know from experience that Shi-
loh's Cure will cure your cough. It never
falls. This explains why more than a million
bottles were sold the past year. It relieves
Croup and Whooping Cough at once. Mothers
do not be without it. For lame back side or

A Orleans inventor has had
patented an apparatus for extracting
oil from cotton seed without any of
the cumberous machinery of the oil
mill of today. The new machine con-
sisting of huller separator divisor
digestorpumps tubes and tanks com-
plete costs $2500 and claims an out-
put of 350 pounds of pure oil for
every 1000 pounds of seed. This ma-
chioe will if tests approve its claims
revolutionize cotton oil manufacture
and add largely to the profits of the
planters. It will give the planter all
the refuse for land dressing save him
the cost ot transportation as between
oil and seed and give him a dead
sure thing against the oil trusts.

A QUESTIONABLE DODGE.

would seem to call for a law to sup-
