The Sagemont Cowboy Football and Drill/Mascot
members held a skating party Sunday, Sept. 18 at the
Almeda Skate Rink. The highlight of the day was the race
between the football coaches and the drill team directors.
The race, needless to say, was won by the Drill Team
irectors. “Way to go, girls!” A good time was had by all

repeat offering of the Weber Elementary has an
RN/LVN Refresher Course ‘ open-door policy” regar-
beginning Oct. 24. Designed ding visitations. Parents are
for the nurse who has been
out of the hospital environ-
ment for several years, the
course provides the oppor-
tunity for nurses to update
their nursing knowledge and
practice their clinical skills.
The program contains such
topics as drug therapy,
medication administration,
a focus on primary nursing
and the nursing process and
assessment. An IV skills lab
is also included.
The six-week course will
be conducted at Humana
Hospital-Clear Lake on a
Monday-Wednesday-Friday
schedule. The first three
weeks will consist of
classroom instruction and
lecture, while the fourth,
fifth, and sixth weeks will
be clinical training on the
nursing units.
The fee for the course is
$125, which will be re-
funded to the nurse should
he/she become employed at
Humana Hospital-Clear
Lake and complete a six-
month period of employ-
ment. The course will be
limited to 12 nurses, so ear-
ly registration is encour-
aged. The last day for
registration will be Oct. 14.
Inquiries concerning this
course should be directed to
the Education Department
at 338-3454 as soon as
possible. The course facili-
tator is Kathy LaBrode, In-
service Coordinator, Hu-
mana Hospital-Clear Lake.
Applicants for the course
must have a current Texas
license (or a letter from the
State Board of Nursing, re-
quiring a Refresher Course),
and will need to pass a pre-
employment physical.
