night at the annual Band Awards event when he received the coveted Sousa
Award, givne annually to the choice of the band members. Gary was 18 in
December and is an EHS Senior. Tollie, on the right, will be 15 Feb. 3, and
husband Ivan was not asked his age.
THE PUNCH AREA of the long L-shaped serving table at the annual Band
Awards program-buffet-dance was a popular spot throughout the evening
with the 300 present including band members, dates and guests. Serving
punch above is Mrs. Albert Newberry (she and Mrs. Jerry L. Smith, pictured
yesterday were food chairmen); Mrs. Lonnita Ellis who made the 300 small
