As market research goes,
the Beef Customer Satisfac-
tion research project recently
finished by Texas A&M
University is like a freezer
full of meat: its contents
won't be digested all at once.
It could, however, help
sell more of a commodity
that has lost ground in the
past two decades to other
meats.
"The size of this study is a
story in itself. It's huge,"
said Dr. Jeff Savell, a Texas
aeelseor.

VERMEER INTRODUCES-A new, larger rotary disc-style
mower/conditioner has just recently been introduced by Vermeer
Manufacturing Company, Pella, Iowa. The new RC120 Mower/Conditioner has a
cutting width of 11’8" and operates at speeds up to 9 mph. It is powered by a
single, direct-drive gearbox to both the cutter bar and conditioning rollers.
There are no drive chains, belts, or high-maintenance flatbed-style gear
systems. The disc-style cutter bar consists of independent cutting heads
driven by a steel hex shaft. Each-cutting head is self-contained and prepacked
with its own set of gears, bearings and lubricant. The 4,370-lb unit is easy to
service. By simply removing the end bar and two bolts per cutting unit, you can
slide the cutting heads and spacing sections off for repair or replacement. For
more information about the Vermeer RC 120 and RC9120 see your area
dealers for more details.

In the same period,
