DPS Investigates Area Traffic Accidents
C.R. Steinhauser was
cited for speeding in an inci-
dent resulting in an acci-
dent Monday, April 6. DPS
officer Gary Davis was stop-
ping Steinhauser for speed-
ing when he ran off the road.
A boat he was towing began
swerving causing the Stein-
hauser van and boat and
trailer to overturn one time.
Steinhauser and his passen-
gers, who were not wear-
ing seat belts, received only
minor injuries.
The accident occured one
mile west of Groom on 1-40
in the east bound lane at
5:44 p.m. Steinhauser lists
an Osage, Mo. address.
A second accident was
investigated Sunday night,
April 12 by DPS officer Jake
Ray from Claude. Lee Bark-
ley suffered a broken pelvis
and arm in a one vehicle roll
over about three miles south
of Groom in Armstrong
County. Ray reported Bark-
ley was leaving the feed lot
when he lost control of his
Ambulance personnel to
Northwest Texas Hospital.
DPS officers have filed
761 cases during the first
quarter of 1987 netting
$13,748 in fines for Carson
County.
Warning citations have
been issued in 209 instances
The DPS works the counties
vehicle on the gravel:of Carson, Gray, Donley and
Barkley was taken by Groom Armstrong.

Easter Party
“Here comes bunny
cottontail hopping down the
bunny trail.” One would
think they stepped into the
Club House last Thursday
evening April 2nd. Bunnies
and ducks graced the tables
everwhere one looked. A
large white bunny graced
the serving table. After eat-
ing those who wished to go
to the Baptist Church could
go or those desiring so could
stay and play games.
