Jessica Shalee Bates is
the daughter of Troy and Kim
Ritter and Lee and Michele
Bates. She attended school in
Albuquerque and Amarillo
before coming to Groom in
1999. She is a member of the
First Baptist Church of
Groom. She plans to attend
West Texas A & M
University to pursue a degree
in Special Education. She
was the
Janetta
recipient of the
Lamt
Scholarship at
awards ceremony.
Hudson
a recent
Jessica credits her mom,
Kim Ritter, as having the
greatest influence on her life.

Groom in the summer as a
foreign exchange student
from Italy. Her American
parents are Tony and
Wamyth Britten.
She attended the Blaise
Pascal School in Italy and is
Catholic. Manuela plans to
attend college and major in
foreign language.
The person who has
most affected Manuela’s life
is her mother.
“She is always there for
me. She cheers me up when I
am sad and helps me to face
any problem,” she said.

Brett Andrew Britten is
the son of Pat Britten and
Laura Moran. He is planning
to attend West Texas A & M
University and study Animal
Science. He is a member of
the Immaculate Heart of
Mary Catholic Church.
Brett’s motto is “Live
Life To The Fullest.” With
that in mind you can see that
he lives his motto as he
participated in his many high
school activities:
As a member of the
State Champion Runner-Up
Team, Brett was very active
in football for 4 years. He
played fullback, linebacker
and defensive end. In
basketball, he served his team
by playing the post position.

Dian Britten is planning to
attend West Texas A & M
University to study Pre-
physical Therapy.
“I would have to say,”
she said, when asked who the
most influential person in her
life was, “my grandmother,
Margie Smith, has had a great
amount of influence on my
life. She taught me to forgive
and forget and no matter what
happens, God will be there to
help you through the hard
times and to come out on
top."
Staci is a Catholic and
is a member of the TYM
youth organization.

“My Gross-papa,
Harvey Artho, is the man I
honor most , in my life,” she
said. “He taught me how to
be a better person through my
faith and hard work. The
most important thing to him
was family. He always made
a point to come see us at least
once a month. Whether it
was just for twenty minutes
or an afternoon. He wanted
us to remember him as a
person that cared for his wife,

grandchildren and eight

Brin Kay Burgin is the
youngest daughter of Donald
and Nila Burgin.
“My Aunt Dondra has had
the most influence in my life.
She has taught me to trust in
God and all things are
possible. She is always there
when I need her and there for
a shoulder to cry on. Also, to
be myself and never give up
on what I want to
accomplish,” she stated. "My
parents have also had a major
influence on me. They have
always stood by me ho matter
what and told me that I can
accomplish anything I set my
mind to do.”
