It will be understood that the device is sus-

HIaving thus described the invention, what
io is claimed as new is-
1. In a corn-husker, the combination with a
suitable base, of a pivoted knife-bar, a knife
mounted thereon, an operating-lever for said
knife, and a pivotal link connecting said le-
I5 ver and knife-bar, said lever being offset in-
termediate its ends and forming a shoulder
adapted to coact with the knife-bar for limit-
ing the movement of said knife and stopping
the same before it has passed entirely through
the husk, substantially as and for the pur- 20
pose described.
2. The combination with a suitable base, of
a pivoted knife-bar, a knife mounted thereon,
a slotted post for guiding the free end of the
knife-bar, an operating-lever for the knife, 25
and a link interposed between said lever and
the knife-bar, said lever being provided in-
termediate its ends with an offset or shoulder
adapted to strike against the knife-bar for
limiting the movement of the knife, substan- 30
tially as described.
