LIBERTY

A county-wide soil conservation
day was held in this community on
the Woodson place Monday. A large
crowd from every part of the coun-
ty was present.
Liberty school will have their
Christmas program next Wednes-
day night, December 21, while the
Methodist church will have their's
as usual on the night of the 25th.
The Ladies' Aid Society met last
Thursday evening for their annual
Christmas tree.
Prayer meeting was again held
at the Methodist church last Thurs-
day night.
The Epworth League met for a
regular meeting Sunday night.
We again report gladly that
Johnnie Stock is tín the road to re-
covery.
Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Duewall ac-
companied Mr. and Mrs. H. A.
Loehr to Lexington Sunday

spent Sunday here with her pa-

We haven't seen a write-up
from our community in quite a
while, although we are still on the
map. and very glad to state that
health is good, our school, church
and Sunday School are progressing
nicely for which we are very thank-
ful.
Bartly Jones returned to his home
in Port Arthur Sunday, after visit-
ing with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Gabe Jones, a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. James Sharp, Mr.
and Mrs. Jimmie Holkim, of Hous-
ton, were week-end visitors of their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rush Wha-
ley, last week.
Floyd Goodson returned home
Wednesday from Rockdale, where
he spent a few days with his aunt,
Mrs. Emma Freeman.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Maddox vis-
ited in the Rita community Friday.
Miss Lena Fay Whaley spent
Sunday with Miss LaVern Goodson.

James Sprott, of Cleburne, spent
the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. J.
F. Martin.
Mr. P. Watson passed away Mon-
day morning at 6 o'clock. He was
a man who was liked by every one
who knew him. He had been a
member of the Liberty Baptist
Church for a number of years. He
is survived by the following chil-
dren: Mrs. Charley Simms, of
Lyons, Mrs. Will Simms, of Som-
erville, Mrs. Elmer Holerman, of
Rockdale, Mrs. Jim Moses, of Mid-
way, Tola Watson and Dewey Wat-
son, of Caldwell, Onon Watson, of
Midway, Glenn Watson, of Somer-
ville, and Rov Watson, of Meadow.
Mr. and Mrs. Odie Jackson are
visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Herman Price.

8. They reported it a very enjoyable
occasion.
Our regular meeting was held on
the afternoon of December 12. due
to the fact that most of the mem-
bers would not be able to be pres-
ent that night, our regular time
for hnving it. Some business was
transacted, mostly planning for fu-
ture events which will make our
