RAY BREMSER
Born in Jersey City 1934. Jazz poet. Lived in Central America for year and a half.
Educated at Bordentown Reformatory. Has spent some years in prison. TV documentary
discovered him in prison. At 15, Billie Holiday was his idol. Roller Skating Speed
Champion of the U.S. Considers the best poets to be himself, Ginsberg, Jones, Kerouac,
Orlovsky and Corso. Has done readings at Vassar, Princeton, Lehigh. 1960 works
published in The New American Poetry. 1967 Angel published with introduction by
Lawrence Ferlinghetti. Lives in Cherry Valley, New York.
TRISHA BROWN
Born in 1937. Began studying dance when she was 13 in Aberdeen, Washington.
Received B.A. in dance from Mills College, Oakland, California. 1958 taught dance at
Reed College, 1959, Mills College. 1960 joined Ann Halprin's workshop in San
Francisco, meeting Simone Forti, Yvonne Rainer, La Monte Young, Terry Riley and Robert
Morris; went to New York, studied with Merce Cunningham. 1962 helped found Judson
Church Theater, worked at Madman Playhouse. Has given concerts on roofs of New York;
the Whitney Museum; Festival of Dance and Music. Since 1970 has worked with internal
structures and ideas. Performances include: Concert at Yoko Ono's loft, New York, 1961;
George Segal's farm, No. Brunswick, New Jersey, 1963; Studio Program for Mir6, New
York, 1965, Riverside Church Theater, New York, 1968; Roof Piece-53 Wooster St. to 381
Lafayette (Rauschenberg's residence), New York, 1971.
WILLIAM S. BURROUGHS
Born in St. Louis 1914. Attended Harvard 1936; did graduate studies in ethnology and
archaeology; medical student at the University of Vienna. Formerly newspaper reporter,
part-time detective and exterminator. 1945 friends with Ginsberg and Kerouac; at that
time on heroin. 1953 lived in Mexico; Kerouac wrote Doctor Sax while staying with him.
Contributed to Fuck You/A Magazine of the Arts. Lived for many years in Europe; is
currently in the U.S. His publications include: Junkie: Confessions of an Unredeemed
Drug Addict 1953; Naked Lunch, 1959; The Exterminator, 1960; Minutes to Go, 1961; The
Soft Machine, 1961; Dead Fingers Talk, 1963; The Yage Letters, 1963; Nova Express,
