PREVENTED BY A MOB.
Eminence, Ky., Aug. 80.—The
sixth joint debate iti the series of
twelve to have taken place l e-
tween Col. W. (). Bradley and
Gen. Watt P. Hardin at Kmi-
nence, Ky.. to-day, was called off
on account of the noisy demon-
stration of the crowd.
(%d. Bradley was to have open-
ami closed the debate. When
the colonel attempted to open the
debate the noise and disturbance
of the crowd was so great that he
was compelled to sit down.
W. P. Thome, democratic
chairman, arose and appealed for
order, but the crowd paid no at-
tention to hiui.
Col. Bradley attempted again
and again to speak, six times in
all, hut failed to get a hearing.
Seeing that any attempt to speak
was in vain, he gave it up, saying
that the noise was more than he
could stand and refused most
positively to proceed further.
The colonel said: "I wish I had
