lected the Scioto Olub, near Columbus,
for his golf gnme and wan to make
' the forty miip trip, hack by motor
late this afternoon.
Toulglj|t with Mrs. Harding and a
circle of relative* and friends he will
learn the retnilt of the balloting at ity
home, where "lot*! Republican leader*
have pis lined a red fire celebration In
his honor.
If there was la the candidate's mind
any apprehension over the outcome, 1$
did not manifest itself in his outward
demeanor. He wore the same alf of
smiling confidence that has character-
ized his manner throughout his cam-
paign, mid there was apparent an ad-
ditional touch of satisfaction that the
stress of political debate aud maneu-
vering was over.
Mrs. Harding, his constant compan-
ion, during his campaigning, Appeared
equally confident and she lnabrted. on
doing her full part to the end of the

Vacation plans are in formulation
for Mr. ami Mrs. Harding, but (fetalis
have not been announced. A trip that
would take them away for two weeks
or more of rest has been recommend;
ed b.v their frleuds, aud they expect to
make a decision within a day or two.
A secluded place prolmbly will be se-
lected, so that should Mr. Harding be
victorious, he could escape much of
the annoyance which comes to a presi-
dent-elect.
Many of his admirers, confident ol
n Republican victory, already have
given him the attentions of a potential
President, and the inevitable proces-
sion of office seeker* has begun. Re-
quefts for appointments to positions
ranging from Cabinet members down,
have reached Hurtling headquarters in
quantity aud there has l>een a rush for
post masterships by many who are not
aware that recent legislation'has "put
these |M)sitiotis under the civil service.
One of those who offered to serve as
Secretary of State, wrote the Senator
that although he was young and fnex-
lierlenced, he had honest purposes an<r
high alms, and was willing to take
advice. His name never had been
heard before the candidate or Ida ad-
visers here.
Precinct C of the Fourth Ward of
Marlon was the Senator's voting ptace
today. It returned a I>emocrattc ma-
jority at the last election, but the lo-
ci. 1 Republican managers predicted
that it would go for Harding by a
big margin today.
