MAY GILL OFF FIGHT
Vk Hanson Said to Be Angiitis For
.in With Fortune and ' annger
Ik Worried.
By JACK BRACK.
8. G. Oonsoles the local fight pro-
moter Is ready to testify thut the
handling of fighters even after they
have signed to appear Is some Job.
The big fight billed 'for Nov. 2rd Is
about to be called on uy iwawn
leaving Brother Joe out-generaled for
the first Ume. Joe. as a rule out-
ruesves the other fellow but thla time
he let the strangers slip one over en
him.
Hanson and his manager for n.
while yesterday were at outs but late
laat nbjht patched things up to such
an extent that they are again doing
business.
The trouble started with Hanson a
reading an ad In the Morning Times.
Vic read where a very popular and
fine -appearing young lady wan about
to lose $2000 by not being married.
The young lady advertised the fact
and up to date has received many an-
swers. Hanson immediately figured thai
the obtaining of $280.000 by the mat-
rimonial route was a lot easier and
much dulcker then In the squared cir-
cle. He therefore with the consent
of his manager Fred Wtnaor mailed
a letter and has been nervously await-
ing an answer. Winsor had no ob-
jection to the affair until he was given
to understand that there was nothing
doing for htm in the large purse thai
the fighter would draw.
Hanson continued alone until a late
hour yesterday without the desired re-
sults and then decided that he needed
a manager and looked up Winsor and
opened negotiations with him. Fred
is lairly good spreading the fight salve
but he admits that thla Is one too
many for him unless he can arrange
fof an invitation to the Country club
where this young lady appears quite
often.
The work of locating the lady In
question has taken off several pounds
of weight for Hanson In a single day
Also It has been the source of much
worry to the promoters who have no
one to so o inHaneonSr pJac; Noth-
ing that the promoters could say
would change the mind of the fighter
who suddenly decided to get married
for the paltry sum of $280000 and
unless something happens that will
bring destruction to the social plant
of Hanson there will be no fight.
Jack Hcrrlck In slxing up the situa-
tion says that he can hardly blame
Hanson for the stand he has taken
saying that the fight game was a slow
way (o get money and promptly ob-
tained a copy of the paper containing
the advertisement. Just what he
wanted thafpaper for at this late date
with his opponent so far In the lead
was not learned.
Loral fans say that the money Is
too small to take such men out of the
game and say the $280;000 match will
be declared off. In spite of the trou-.
ble matchmakers for the club have
signed the seml-wlndup. Kid Hsrris
and Benny Cardo via will meet In a
six-round engagement at 133 pounds.
The curtain raiser will be arranged
later.
Battling Chico Is again In town. Tho

tor the 18th at Denver with Earl
