YOUNG COUPLE TO BE
LPRESENTED HERE FRIDAY
On Friday night, August 16th,
at 8 o'clock, a piano and organ
concert by Mike Groves of
atador and Sharon Edmiston
wFloydada will be given in the
sanctuary of the Aspermont
First Methodist Church.
The appearance of these young
artists is being sponsored by the
local Campfire and Boy Scout
groups, and the Phoenix Club.
Miss Edimiston and Mr. Groves
have just returned from the In-
ternational Piano Teachers' Con-
vention in New York City, at
which they received a superior
rating, Miss Edmiston in the
senior division and he in the
artist student division. They

school activities. Mike is a
member of the Matador First
Methodist Church; is assistant
organist, president of his local
MYF, and MYF sub-district
president. He is active in FFA.

football team, a member of the
"Hep-Cat' 'Band, and partici-
pates in all school functions.
Both of these young peoDle are
only 15 years of age. Mike is
a cousin of Mrs. A. A. Annis. a
former resident of Aspermont.
The community is indeed for-
tunate in having the oppor-
tunity of hearing this young
couple, and all are invited to
attend their concert.
CAMPFIRE GIRLS
ENJOY "COOK-OUT'
On Friday, August 1st, at 5:00
p.m.. the Campfire girls met at
the home of Barbara Smith for
| a business meeting.
They inspected notebooks, dis-
cussed ways of raising monev.
| and decided where they would
held their next meeting.
Following the business meet-
ing, the groun went to the pic-
nic area at the Hamlin Br'drr*
f r their "cook-out" of scrambled
eggs, bacon. fried potatoes,
onions. pickles and cookies.
Grmes were enjoyed before and

Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Brown of

ents of a baby boy, named
Dennis Mark, who weighed
nine pounds, one-half ounce, at
birth. The maternal grand-
paernts are Mr. and Mrs. Mark
Luttrall of this city.
Mrs. Ruby Cochran and Mrs.
Bailey Clark spent last week
sight-seeing in Colorado and
New Mexico. While in New
Mexico, they visited in the home
of Katherine and Abie Hollen-
