honor guest at a lovely Bridge Party

when Mrs. Hodges and Miss Wilkes
mother, Mrs. Frank B. Green, were
joint hostesses to five tables of

The home was artistically decor-
ated in the seasonal colors of red
and green, beautiful poinsettas and
fern being used to further carry out
the scheme.
At the conclusion of the many
games, Mi s Beth Fowler was given
high score prize, a beautiful basket
vase, while high cut prize was given
to Miss Belle Jackson, a pair of
candle sticks, and Miss Mary Nell
Jones wa.i given second high score
prize, a lovely string of pearls. The
honor guest, Miss Wilkes was pre-
sented with a dainty little violet
bowl.
A delicious salatl course was ser-
ved as a climax to a most enjoyable
afternoon.

Even before the hour named, the
many friends of the young couple be-
gan assembling at the church, which
wan beautifully decorated for the
occasion. Gorgeous white chrysan-
themums in floor baskets and fern
were attractively arranged about the
church.
At the improvised altar, which
was embanked with beautiful ferns
and other greenery, two huge candle-
labras each containing seven tall
pink tapers, formed a beautiful urcn
back of which the ceremony was
solemnized. At either side of the
arch also embanked with beautiful
flowers, canary birds were singing
their melodious songs of love.
Awaiting the arrival ol the bridal
party, Mr. Marcus Peters sang "I
Ijove You Truly" accompanied at
the piano by Mrs. T. P Haynie.
To the strains of Mendelssohns
Wedding march the four brides-maids
beautifully attired in [link chiffon,
trimmed with long streamers of pink
velvet entered on the arms of their
escorts. Mrs. Otelia Jamar, dress-
ed in orchid chiffon, and acting as
Matron of Honor then entered alone,
being followed by Miss Mary Bell
Turner, dressed in pink chiffon, an
Maid of Honor.
Lastly came the bride, leaning on
the arm of her brother, Robert
Wilkes, who relinquished her at the
alta to the care of her chosen one.

from "air-guns up"- were given.
But the greatest gifts at this hap-
py Xmas tree was the gift of love and
warm hearts, that exists in the ten-
der ties of "family love."
Kodak pictures was taken of the
groups of nephews, of neices, and of
all together.
