5 AM June 28th  (64)

All up and up this AM
Miss Mary Brown staid all night
with us last night. She is almost a
Skelleton although she weighs about 268 5/7
lbs. gross.   But  about that commotion
of the earth there could be something more
said it lasted about five minutes
during the greater part of which time
there could be felt a peculiar jar
or rocking of the earth.  If you can
learn anything about it just let us
have it when convinient. Some propose
that it was a Meteoric phenominia but
I do not think so. A late letter from the
2nd Tennessee Regt to Cat Dully Says
that all is fleurishing there and the
Winham boys are doing well and also
says that they have all reenlisted
If this is not gone by Noon I will fill up
the other side if it is you wil have to
excuse blank.   Aunt Beckie and Aunt Stasy
were together at Andersons yesterday joking each other about
about marrying. My love to all     J. C. Moore

Allen Wade said on the sixth day of June that he had been
corresponding with Charles Moore and if such is be is posted
with regard to you. Him and Roll came near quarrling and letiene(?) to
take him up one side and down t other he is a fanatical fool with nothing
particulary good about him except by accident His P.O. is Murfreesboro
