Social Training of Children.
Too great care can not be
taken in watching and select-
ing the social group into
which a young girl is to be
introduced. Mothers who go
little into scciety themselves
are too apt to let their daugh-
ter? follow their own inclina-
tions, to stay at home and lead
a lonely, unhappy childhood
and girlhood if they are shy
and reserved, and to drift into
the social circle of church or
school which appeals to tlieui
most, regardless of their de-
sirability. If they are social-
ly inclined such chance asso-
ciations may do a lasting
harm as the indulgence in

< INDIGESTION
A Disorder that Breeds Dis-
ease in the Body, and an
Easy Way to Cure it.
Take care of the stomach and you will
have little need for the doctor.
When the stouiach begins to show
igns of disorder; when the food digests
tlowly and with discomfort; when you
iiuve heartburn; feel bloated and uneasy,
you are in a condition that needs atten-
tion.
I'rlclcly Ash Bitters eorrtclo the dis-
ordered stomach by strengthening and
toning up the digestive organs, driving
the badly digested food into the bowels
and thence out of the system.
Constipation is nearly always pres-
ent when the stomach becomes sour or
disordered. Prickly Ash Bitters con-
tains the medicinal qualities which act
as a restorative and regulator for the
stomach and bowels. It strengthens the
digestive organs, cures constipation and
prevents the return of bilious conditions.
Thousands of people who have re-
ceived lasting benefit from this great
remedy willingly testify to its power in
curing indigestion, constipation and kid-
ney trouble.

Every family in England possesses
at least one "weak-minded" member
—this is tho opinion of an editorial
writer in the Hospital, a London
medical magazine. The remark is
elicited by a recent report of tho
commissioners in lunacy, which
shows that, although the number of
insane patients in British hospitals
continue to increase yearly, the rate
of increase is now less than for the
past few years. Possibly, the writer
suggests, the race is acquiring some
sort of immunity, certain families
being now able to withstand an at-
tack that would have been fatal to
their ancestors. The statistics also
sliow that three-quarters of the per-
sons annually certified to be insane
are suffering from a first attack,
which would indicate the efficiency
of treatment and tlie comparative
rarity of herditary insanity. The
outlook is regarded, on the whole, a#
rather hopeful.
