where she excelled academically and socially, once being crowned
Ms. James Whitcomb Riley. Minnie was a great help to her mother
assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of their household and
.caring for her younger brothers and sisters. This prepared her for her
greatest role of all, that of wife and mother.
On April 8, 1964 she married the love of her life, her one and only true
love, Charles Anthony Bellinger. Together they shared a love story
only God could write, one of faithfulness, love and devotion and only
in death did they part. Together they began Bellinger's Moving
Service in 1976, one of San Antonio's first and oldest Black owned
Moving Company. After her beloved husbands death in 1997 she
continued to operate the business until the day of her death.
Minnie's loving husband, Charles, her stepfather and mother, Charlie
and Rosa Reed, father, Samuel W. Payne also proceeded her in death.
Minnie leaves to mourn three children, one son Garmon,
two-daughters Angela(Charles) and Josette all of San Antonio. Three
grandchildren, Marisa, Calvin and Abbie. Three brothers Eddie and
David Payne of San Antonio and Sam Jr., Atlanta. Two sisters
Yolanda Threat, Atlanta and Sonia Reed White of San Antonio. She
will be greatly missed by her True Holiness Pentecostal Church
Family, numerous nieces, nephews cousins other relatives, business
acquaintances and friends.
Memories
I remember my grandmother in the best of ways. Smiling, giving
advice and the joy she brought everytime I saw her. I remember seeing
her at my basketball games. Looking at her changed my game for the
better. She was always there for her grandkids, wheather it being,
Calvin's basketball games, Abbie's Cheering at (me of the football games
or my choir concerts; being with her and her being with us kept
everything happy. Once caught holding NaNa, it was like being around
your favorite teddy bear, you never wanted to let go. Even though it
hurts so bad and we'll miss you every second of the day, we must let go,
with the- comfort in knowing you've seen your Savior face to face.
Forever Your Big Baby,
Marisa (Granddaughter) AKA-Eah
My Big Sister,
To My Big Sister Minnie, words cannot express the hurt
and pain I feel today.
To My Big Sister Minnie, 1 thank you for helping mother
raise me in a loving, caring respectful way.
To My Big Sister Minnie, you brighten my each
and every day.
To My Big Sister Minnie, 1 will miss your laugh the talks we
use to have almost each and every day.
To My Big Sister Minnie, you are the reason
I am saved today.
To My Big Sister Minnie, I'm hurt today! but I'm glad to say
that God heard your plea and set you free last Saturday.
Minnie, I miss you with all my heart but I find comfort in
knowing that you are with God Today.
Love Your Brother,
David Payne
