Monday, July 18
Mustang Moms
The Mustang Moms will have their
first meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday,
July 18, 2011, at the Sweetwater Mustang
field house.
AARP
The Nolan County Chapter AARP will
meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 18,
2011, at the SNAI building. A business
meeting will be held, followed by a musi-
cal program by the Good Ole Boys and
Girls Band. A covered dish meal will be
served.
Mustang Football Camp
The 2011 Mustang Football Camp has
been scheduled for Monday through
Wednesday, July 18-20 at Mustang
Bowl. The camp will be for students
who are entering grades 4-9. The hours
for this year's camp are 6-8 p.m. each
day. Registration or the camp begins
at 5:40 p.m. on Monday. July 18 ar no
pre-registration is necessary. The cost
is $30. Checks should be made payable
to Mustang head football coach Craig
Slaughter.
Plowboy Football Camp
A Plowboy Football Camp in Roscoe
led by the Roscoe football coaching staff
will be held Monday through Wednesday,
July 18-20 at the Roscoe practice field.
The camp is for students entering grades
2-9 and is from 9-11:30 a.m. each day.
Registration for the camp begins at 8:30
a.m. or Monday, July 18 at the Roscoe
practice field. Pre-registration is encour-
aged to help with ordering camp T-shirts.
The $25 cost includes a T-shirt. Students
at the camp can wear their camp T-shirt
and get in free to all of Roscoe's 2011
home football games. Registration forms
should be returned to head football
coach Jonathan Haseloff at Roscoe High
School, Box 579, Roscoe, Texas 79546,
or call 766-3844 (coaches office) or 721-
7644 (Haseloffs home number) for more
information.

The Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #571
will have a called meeting at 5:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, July 19, to coi sr a Fellowcraft
degree. All members are urged to attend.
Free Workshop
The West Texas Center for Economic
Opportunity (WTCEO) and The Texas
Tech Small Business Development
Center will conduct a free workshop on
Finding Money to Start a Business. This
workshop will provide an understand-
ing of the sources of capital and how to
develop a strategy of obtaining capital for
your business. This workshop is Tuesday,
July 19, from 6-8 p.m. The workshop will
take place at the WTCEO located at 1102
N. 3rd St. Seating is limited for this free
workshop so please call 325-672-8980
to reserve your space. The WTCEO is
part of a community initiative led by the
United Way and a partnership with the
Dodge Jones Foundation. For details on

Story Book Theatre
The Story Book Theatre will be held at
1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, at the
County-City Library. They will present
the program Two Pigs ai 1 T.H.E. Wolf.

Pre-Teen Free Swim Day
The Sweetwater Kiwanis Club will have
a free swim day for all local pre-teens.
From 1-6 p.m. the Kiwanis will cover the
cost for any child 12 and under to swim
at the Sweetwater Municipal Pool on
Thursday, July 28.
Monday, Aug. 1
Soccer Registration
Sweetwater Youth Soccer registration
will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. on Monday,
Aug. 1 and Tuesday, Aug. 2 and again on
Friday, Aug. 5 at Hibbett Sports cated
at 1008 East Broadway Street. There
will be no late registration. Sweetwater
Youth Soccer is open to boys and girls
between the ages of 4-12 years. The soc-
cer season start on Saturday, Sept.
o. Registration is $45 per child and $40
for each additional si ig. Sponsorship

Volleyball Camp
Volleyball Camp will begin Monday,
Aug. ] for girls in grades third through
seventh based on the 2010-2011 school
year, at the Sweetwater Middle School
Gym, located at 305 Lamar Street.
Camp hours will be 9-11:30 a.m. for
girls in sixth and seventh grade, Monday
through Friday and from 1-3:30 p.m. for
girls in third through fifth grade Monday
through Thursday. Camp ee is $35 and
inch es a T-shirt. Those attending will
be able to improve their skills in vol-
leyball With instruction through games
and competition. Concession stand will
be available for snacks and drinks. Pre-
registration is appreciated.
Tuesday, Aug. 2
Jump Rope Camp
Jump Rope Camp will be August 2-4 at
the Sweetwater Intermediate School gym
for students in first through fourth gra 2s
(completed). Fourth gr; ers will meet in
the mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. First
through third graders will meet from 1-3
p.m. Contact Rajeania Pittman if inter-
ested in attending at 338-4342.

"Dog Therapy" training classes

"Therapy Dog; 0 visit patients. This
class is open to the public and will train

Reserved Season Football
Tickets
Reserved season football tickets for
the 2011 season will be up for renew-
al to current option holders beginning
Monday, July 18, through Friday, Aug.
5. Tickets may be purchased at the
Sweetwater ISD Administration office.
Tickets are $30 for five home games.
Reserved icket sales for the general
public will go on sale on Monday, Aug.
8. The ast day to purchase season tie!
ets will be Friday, Aug 19. Tickets will
be sold during regular business hours.

July Art Exhibit
The July Artist of the Month at the
County-City Library is Anis Kashani.
Some of her acrylic paintings and char-
coal portraits are currently on display.
The hours for the library are Monday
from 1-6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday
from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
LEP Summer School at SISD
Sweetwater ISD will host a LEP
Summer School for students entering
Kindergarten and first grade for the
2011-2022 school year if there are 10
or more students eligible to participate.

Gomez, Daniel Account
An account has been set up at Texas
National Bank to help the amilies of
Candice Gomez and her two children
and Bianca and Jeremy Daniel and their
two children, who lost their home and
all of their belongings in a house fire.
The children's ages are 13, 9, 5 and
16 months and clothing sizes needed
include sizes 2T and 5T. Size 3 diapers
and wipes can also be donated. Other
clothing sizes are men's size 32 pants
and men's large shirts, women's medi-
um and large tops and sizes 9 and size
11 bottoms, men's size 10.5 shoes and
women's size 7.5 shoes. Donations can
be taken to 804 E. 15th Street 01 by call-
ing 325-513-0243. Any household items
and furniture can also be donated. All
donations are greatly appreciated.

The Sweetwater High School class
of 1981 will hold their 30 year class
reunion Sept. 16-17. They are currently

VA Medical Center
Recently, the VA Medical Center in
Albuquerque, N.M. sent out letters to
veterans in Nolan Count) that receive
care there that cash would no longer
be issued for travel pay and reimburse-
ment would be made by check or elec-
tronic funds transfer within 10 days of
the completion of travel. After work-
ing with several agencies, this in not
entirely true any longer. According to
Wanda P. Cox, Acting Chief, Health
Administrative Service, there will be a
contingency plan for any emergency and
these will be reviewet on a case-by-ease
basis. The veteran will be provided with
funds to get him/her home with the
remainder being sent to them via check
of EFT. Veterans thinking they may
need the cash for their return trip from
New Mexico should contact Wanda P.

A benefit account has been set up
at Roscoe State Bank to assist Janice
Garrett, who lost all of her belonging
in the fire at Jack Lambert Apartments
on May 15, 2011. To make a contribu-

Newton Account
Michael Newton is in need of a
heart valve transplant, and the fam-
ily is attempting to find a way to help
with these medical expenses. A ben-
