of the Mayor of Hastrop, Bastrop
Texa.-, and are open for public-
inspection.
A set of such documents may
be obtained from the office of
the Mayor of Bastrop, Hastrop.

be refunded to each actual bidder

afternoon.
Enjoying playing dominoes and
eating pop corn at the Garland
Hefner home Saturday night were
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Rucker and
Roy, Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Lee and
children. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hol-
ligan and Udell Hendrix.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Fofin and
children, Jonelie, Jerry and Robert
Daryll left Friday to spend a few
days in Hondo with their parents.
Most everyone in the communi-
ty went over to the school house
to have a volley ball game Friday
night. Guess we will soon be play
ing several nights a week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hoskins and
children of Alum Creek were din-
ner guests in the home of Mr
and Mrs. Garland Hefner. They
all visited in the Rucker home latei
in the afternoon.
Weldon and Rillie Glass of Has-
trop spent the week end with their
grandfather, Henry Hefner.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Hefner
and sons of Bastrop spent Sunday
in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
I/onnie Osborn.
Most of the veterans in the
community attended the barbe-
cue in Smithville Tuesday night.

HOUSTON COUPLE
Mr. and Mrs. N. W. Eastland,
3915 Larendon St., celebrated their
golden wedding anniversary with
an open house at the home of their
son, Lloyd Eastland, 282(> Moss
Rose. Twenty-eight friends besides
the members of the family signed
the guest book at the affair, which
was held Sunday afternoon, a day
before the actual anniversary. The
long-married couple have lived in
Houston for 27 years, during which
time Mr. Eastland has been em-
ployed by the Houston Belt and
j Terminal Railroad. Although 7$
year- old, Mr. Eastland still works
j a full day for the railroad,
j This couple came to Houston
. from Bastrop County many years
: ago. They have four children, liv-
j nig in Houston and eight grand-
I children.
Mr. Eastland is the brother of
j Mrs. Arthur P. Smith.

By virtue of the power vested
in me as Mayor of the City of
Hastrop. Texas, and in accordance
with the Laws of the State govern-
ing ( ity Elections. I. Will Rogers,
hereby order an election to be
held on Tuesday, April 6th., 194s',
under the direction of Hartford
Jenkins, Presiding Judge, and Mrs.
J. S. Milton. Associate Judge.
Said election to be held for the
purpose (if electing one (1) Mayor
to succeed Will Rogers: three (3>
Aldermen to succeed Alex Wuugh,
J. V. Ash. Sr. and R. E. Jenkins:
one (1) City Secretary to succeed
W. S. Craft: and one (1) City
Attorney to succeed Rower Crider,
to serve until the election and
qualification of their successors.
That said election will be held
in the City Hall in the City of
Hastrop, Rastrop County, Texas.
