the Kagle Scout Ceremony will
be: Jitter Nolen, Chairman; and
Jim Lindeman, Mac Umstadt, H.
H. Porterfield. and Rankin Chap-
man, all of Austin. The Univer-
sity of Texas' Longhorn Band
will cooperate by playing "Trail
of the Kagle" during the cere-
mony anil members of the Uni-
versity's Scouting fraternity,
APO, will serve as escorts for
the mothers of the honorees.
Henry Beal, 111 of Troop 187
of Bastrop, will be among the
Kagle Scouts so honored. His
parents. Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Bell will attend the ceremonies.
Other Scouts of Troop IH7 will
serve as ushers at the game, ac-
cording to Scout Master, Bill
Olsen.
Henry Barnes
Aceidently Killed
During Rain
Henry Oscar Barnes, 79, died
from an electrical shock Sun-
day afternoon, when he attempt
ted to move a television antenna
ground pole while standing on
the wet ground during a ram.
Funeral services were held for
.Mr. Barnes, Tuesday, September
24. at 2:80 o'clock from the As-
sembly of tiod Church with Rev.
Wayland Wooilall officiating.
Burial was in Oak Hill Ceme-
tery under the direction of Has-
let Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Roy and Ku-
gene Dunkin, Ben Barnes and
Sammy Thornton, grandsons,
Fred Thornton and Nick Smith,
son in liu-, all of Dallas.
Survivors are his wife and
six daughters. Mrs. Maty Powell,
Bastrop; Mrs. Norene Davis,
Mrs. Klsie Dunkin, Mrs. Opal
Thornton. Mrs. Juanita McCau-
ley and Mrs. Betty Smith all of
Dallas; four sons, James L.
Barnes, Charles Barnes and
Floyd Barnes all of Bastrop and
T. \V. Barnes of Dallas; three
brothers, Eligh Barnes, Dirks,
Arkansas; Ben Barnes, Ksttelene,
Texas and Hose Barnes of Hugo,
Oklahoma and a number of
u randchildrcn.
Mi. Barnes was born in De-
queen, Arkansas on April 'J,
187S. to Jim Barnes and Jep-
pi>y Jot'don Barnes. He was
married to Mis.s Olar Wilson in
Dequeen on April 1 19LL They
came to Texas and to Bastrop
in 1932. He was a member of
the Missionary Baptist church
in Dequeen and wa- a retired
farmer.
