gradual decline in both popu-

County in the 2o year period
from l!M0 to .!)60. Thjy fol-
lowed a discussion of facts and
figures presented by Garland
Marshall, resource development
-peeiali-t from the Extension
Service of Texas A&M College.
The age level in the county is
i rising, *oo, indicating that it
is the young people who are
leaving the county for job*
in cities, or larger populated
areas, leaving older people at
home.
Since the problem is countv-
wide, Mr. Marshall suggested
that a county-wide organiza-
tion, with cooperation from all
three towns as well as the
rural communities, would be
the best plan to follow in seek-
ing to remedy the situation.
A piogram for the economical
and social development of th •
county, with emphasis on em-
ployment and social induce-
ments to help young people to
make their homes in the county
after they are out of schooi.
would be of prime importance.
After a discussion of possi-
bilities and suggestions, the
group agreed to meet for the
organization of the county-wide
group on Tuesday evening. July
17.
John W Barton ->f I'tley,
county program building com-
