ed their 1963-61 Sweatheart and
Beau jointly with the annual
semi-formal Sweetheart Dance on
Monda\. De<ember 23, at 8 p m
i l tin high school gymnasium.
'I lie gym was appropriately de-
decorated throughout with the
Christmas theme. At the en-
trance, a wall of red and green
streamers reached across the
room, with an opening in the cen-
ter, allowing the guests to enter
facing the beautifully lighted
stage, into a room of candie light-
ed tables.
At tlie right stood a huge
Ch.Lstma.s tree, shimmering with
tinsel and colored lights. On lx>th
sides of the entrance and dance
area, were the many tables, cov-
ered with white cloths, green
pine, and red Inirning candles, re-
fleeting the background of red
and gnen streamers which cov-
ered the bleachers
A multi-colored revolving light
on the stage revealed the huge
decorated heart in the center, and
the many reflecthi" lianging co-
lored ornaments and sunbursts.
At the beginning of the even-
ing. each candidate, escorted by
her beau candidate, was announc-
ed at the entrance: then they con-
tinued across the gym, up the
steps bordered by shining blue
and red stars, and onto the stage.
The candidates were freshmen:
Sanura Fariis and Reggie Tuck;
sophomore: Cindy Tuck and Wil-
liam Grlescnhcck; juniors: Clau-
dette Goertz and Jerry Fohn;
seniors: Vicki Rabcnsburg and
Jimmy Callahan.
I

ter of ceremonies.
The Grand March followed, led
by the new Swectlieadt and Beau,
and then an evening of dancing
was enjoyed by the many guests.
Refreshments of fruit punch,
sandwiches assorted cookies and
nuts were served from a red and
green table centered with a
unique Christmas tree made of
pine cones and gold ball orna-
ments.
