of Bastorp were guests of the St.
Anne's Society, Rockn®, for an

evening. March 5.
The Open House hold in Sacred
Heart Church, Rock no, was de-
ducted by Mrs. Albert Klaus. Mm.
Jerry llilbin, Mrs. Leon Orohman,
Mrs. Herman Goertx, Mrs. Thomas
Goertz, and Mrs. Herman Wilheim.
The ladleg toured the church and
heard a brief explantion of tiie
Baptismal Fount, altar, Sacred
Vessels and Vestments, stations of
the cross confessional and statues
and other items of interest.
Mrs M. A. Pnokop, vice presi-
d> nt of the Wesleyan Service, and
Miss Mary Harris, president of the
Woman's Society of Christian Ser-
vice, guests of honor were seated
with the officers of the St. Anne's
Society for the business meeting
held in the scliool auditorium fol-
lfm,', - the Open House. Mrs Ver-
lin Hcndrix. vice president, presid-
ed at the meeting.

tion. Tlie closing prayer was led

Mrs. W. E. Maynatd of the
Woman's Society of Christian Ser-
vice Invited the ladies to attend
the Organizational meeting of the
Bastrop Hospital Auxiliary to be
held March 29 at 3 p. nt. in tlte
Civic Room, Bastrop, and to par-
ticipate in the Pilgrimage of
Homes April 21.
Mrs. Jack Eastland was welcom-
ed as a new member of St. Anne's
Society.
Mrs Martin Goertz spoke oil
"Reading the Bible With Faith."
Mrs. Vernon Bartsch read a let-
ter tlianking the group for the
contribution of {58.00 to the Catho-
lic Relief Service to "Help A Fam-
ily Program". The money was
used for needy children in the Lo
Ey area in Ttmiland.
Twenty-five dollars was contri-
buted to the New Bastrop Hospital,
and Thirty dollars to the March of
Dimes by the Society.
A social hour with refreshments
was enjoyed following the meet-
ing.

DAY PLANNED
Tlx- Diocesan Vocation Office,
under the direction of Rev. Roman
Widacki, and the Diocesan CCD
Center of the CtUtulic Diocese of
Austin, are cooeprattng in sponsor-
ing a diocesan-wide "Vocation and
Career Day" for all high school
student of the diocese on Sunday.
March 24.
The program is lielng held in
eight centers in the diocese, Aus-
tin, St. Mary's Academy; St. Jo-
seph's School, Bryan, St. Mary's
School, Brenham; Holy Trinity
Church, Llano; Sacred Heart
Church. Rockne; Immaculate Con-
ception in Sealy; St. Mary's School,
Temple; and Reicher High Scliool
in Waco.
In each location the program be-
gins at 1 p. m. with a 15 minute
opening talk on "Vocations" given
by a priest, followed by small
group meetings each addressed by
a priest, a nun, a religious brother,
or a married couple. A question
and answer period follows the smal-
ler group discussions
Priests attending will be
able for confession during
minute period preceding
Mass to be celebrated at 4
Supper will follow Mass.

sack lunch. Drinks will be provid-
ed by the local I tost parish. Follow-
ing supper a dance or other re-
creation is planned at the option
of Hie host parish.
An invitation is extended to all
high scliool youth and their teacher
to attend. Priests are also urged
to attend.
This diocesan wide program is
scheduled to nuirk the oliservance
of March as Vocation Month.

The series of five Workshops for
parents of school aged children at-
tending Parochial school of Con
fraternity of Christian Doctrine
Classes, held at Sacred Heart Pa-
rish. Rockne, on Monday evenings
February 5 through March 4th.

One hundred and one persons at-
tended and enjoyed the chicken
supper served in St. Dominic Savio
Hall, Rockne, preceding the pre-
sentation of the finul workshop.

ducted the sessions.
