proud I am of the first few months of your attainistration*
At the San Jacinto Day coremonie# I wanted to talk
with you about a commission that I had boon given by tho
Stat© 0i rector of tho LULAC'a to invito you to bo thoi r
uiain apeakor at^ tho next Texas State LULAC convention .
As you have indicated that you will surety run for re-
election, it would be very advantageous that you avail
yourself of the opportunity of meeting all of the LULAC
loaders from every section of the state that usually
attend LULAC state conventions# The delegates usually
number around five hundred (500) from the four corners
of the state. They are usually business men and leaders
in their community, as LULAC will be thirty-five (35) year©
old next year* This will bo a aroot state convention.
The reason that I an? writing to you so early about
this convention is that I know your time is taken up far
ahead for these speaking engagements. Tho LULAC state
convention will be hold at Beaumont, Texas, Saturday and
Sunday, February I and 2nd of 1964- The banquet will be
at^#8?O0^P Mb Saturday night, February lot, and I should
like to invite you to be the raain speaker at this banquet-
