CELEBRATING FIPTBBHTB
BIRTHDAY
With the last issue of the Brand,
the fifteenth volume of the paper
was cloaed. The paper was found-
ed fifteen years ago by Mr. Frank
Vanderberg.
The last issue of the Brand closed
the Irst year under the present
management—and we are celebiat-
ing our anniversary by letting ihe
contract for a new home for the
Brand, up:>n which work has already

This mv baOdiag to
deuce of oar faith to Hereford sad
the surrounding country Ibsa any-
thing ve could say. Investment is s
better evideoce of faith than any
amount of hot sir and will go far-
ther towards wooing prosperity for
the community.
Our faith to the Brand as s busi-
ness venture hss bees hilly justified
by tbe hosioess of tbe year just
closed. We have not beeo able at
all times to make tbe Brand what
we would like to make it, and what
we hope yet to make it. This is not an
editorial "we" but includes the en-
tire Brand family. If we have in
any reasonable measure succeeded ,
in pleasing the people of Hereford
and Deaf Smith county, and have
secured as sure a place in their con-
fidence and esteem as tbey have in
oura, then we are a fortunate fami-
ly. We came here a year ago
strangers to both the people and

oar ho am, thea by their lovtog aelp-
fatness sad teader sympathies did
the people of Hereford make as
feel ss never before that we were
indeed among frieads, a people of
broad sympathies and generous im-
pulses. After a year's resipeace in
Hereford we are fully coavtoced
that few towns of the sise of Here-
ford have as large a percentage of
really good people of as high ideals
and Christian character In the
year's residence here we have seen
but one man, and he but slight-
ly, under tbe influence of liquor,
