Notes
An article entitled "McEachron Leaves Legacy in Coastal Fisheries" describes how Larry McEachron passed away after an 18-month battle with cancer and how he led scientific research towards the advancement of limited entry plans to control commercial shrimp, crab and finfish overfishing, and ways to reduce commercial bycatch (accidental catch) of non-target species. His work formed the foundation for managementplans for important commercial species like shrimp, oysters, popular game fish like red drum, and less appreciated but vital foundation species like sea grass. He worked hard, and he played hard.
