Notes

Ray Mathews highlights the "Riparian restoration of the San Antonio River; A workshop and field initiative" held on February 10, 2006 as part of the Southern Division of the AFS annual meeting in San Antonio, which was jointly sponsored by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, San Antonio Water System, University of North Texas, and the U.S. Corps of Engineers. Abby Linam, daughter of Gordon and Lee Ann Linam, is recuperating from a serious head injury. The family is very appreciative of the outpouring of support from the TCAFS and wrote a letter of thanks to those who helped in their time of need. The Flotsam & Jetsam includes: "Tuna (Bluefin) quotas cut as stocks decline," "World's coral reefs in danger," "Winner receives $25,000 for shark-deterring magnet," "Dead Sea plan," "Global warming fix or marine snake oil?", and "Wonders of America, land of superlatives (stamp art by Lonnie Busch)."
