dence Hituated in the Second Ward
which together witli the doctor's med-
icines books and four bundled dollars
in greenbacks was entirely consumed.
The citizens and firemen saved nearly
all of tho furniture. Total loss proba-
bly one thousand seven hundred dol-
lars. The Ninety-ninth Anniversary of
our Nation's birth was ushered in this
morning by the customary win rise
racket tiring of anvils etc. A line
Hag was thrown to the breeze by Post-
master Alexander. Home of our more
enthusiastic citizens chartered the Cor-
net band whojn their new tmnd
wagon drawn byfour prancing greys
bedecked with streamers presented a
fine appearance. After one or two
national airs by the band a procession
was formed which proceeded to Tar-
son Fitzgerald's noted Soda Springs
three miles west of town where u
pleasant day was spent. A committee
of fifteen was appointed to arrange for
a miitnblo celebration ol Hie Centen-
nial Fourth of July 1H7U. The party
returned to town at four o'clock.

rejection. The will was contested on
the ground that the testatrix wns un-
sound iu mind when she executed her
testament. She willed most of her
praperty to religious organizations in-
eluding one quarter of a million to

The Marine bank recently lost a
mail bag containing thirty-four thou-
sand dollars worth ol drafts. The mis-
sing mail contained remittances from
several eastern cities and lialHmore.
A dispatch from Dublin says that the
match for the Freeman's Journal to-
day resulted in a tie be'ween Major
Fulton of the Amercon team and Mr.
Doyle of tho Irish team. The tie will
be decided by shooting off-hand at an
ordinary target.
